Hi Folks,

I just googled the NASA astronomy picture of the day site address which I lost some time ago. Awesome pictures. Just Awesome! Enjoy it and praise your God.

http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/archivepix.html

Just look at picture of the day on April 25. Can you find words to express what you feel?

AR

RE: Beyond Words! - Sparrow - 05-01-2007 05:53 PM

Yes, beyond words, my own that is!:blush:
Let the words inspired by the one who made all these things do the speaking...
When I see these pictures a few scriptures come to mind...

Psalm 19:1" The heavens are declaring the glory of God; And of the work of his hands the expanse is telling."

Romans 1:20 "For his invisible qualities are clearly seen from the world’s creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his eternal power and Godship, so that they are inexcusable."

Psalms 8 "O Jehovah our Lord, how majestic your name is in all the earth,
You whose dignity is recounted above the heavens!
2 Out of the mouth of children and sucklings you have founded strength,
On account of those showing hostility to you,
So as to make the enemy and the one taking his vengeance desist.
3 When I see your heavens, the works of your fingers,
The moon and the stars that you have prepared,
4 What is mortal man that you keep him in mind,
And the son of earthling man that you take care of him?"

Thank you for the beautiful pictures Brother Teshome, I love to look out at the stars and the moon at night over this beautiful sleeping volcano I live on.
We are so small in this vast universe of endlessness, and yet, we are all loved and wanted by this Maker of the heavens and earth, he cares for us and looks after us even when we are nothing more than dust. Thank you Jehovah and Jesus!:hug:
Much LOVE,:heartbeat:

Thank you so much for that wonderful site! It is so amazing, and to actually get a running documentary explaining the picture, is just the icing on the cake! The beauty of Jehovah's creation is enough to prove that a higher source exists. How people can deny it, is beyond me.:( It's no wonder the morning stars joyfully cried out together and all the sons of God began shouting in applause! :clap::thumbsup:. What a party that must have been!:cheer:Job38:7 How lucky we are to have as our God and maker Jehovah :worthy: He is worthy to receive all the glory and honour and the power, because He created all things. Rev 4:11 As Sparrow so rightly said, let God's holy words speak to us and do His creation justice because we are not capable to glorify Him in the manner He so rightly deserves. :thinking: The book of Job speaks volumes!!In particular, regarding the awesome sky, Job 38:31-38:read:Thanks once again, AR:thumbsup::drinking:

Thank you so much for posting that link, Teshome! :love:
:star: Very cool. I'd lost it too - I think 'Imagine' on the old Pathways forum was the one that gave us a periodic dose of the 'overcome with awe' syndrome from that site.

And thank you for your wonderful posts, grateful and sparrow - you may speak for me, too, because I really am rendered speechless by my own comparative smallness...

Hi Sister Grateful,

How are you doing, my dear sister?

Yes, First I have been contemplating on pasting one picture whenever I post on the board, you know Digital_Punk style. But while I post the link the other day, I was of the opinion that everyone could click on the site for themselves and see it all.

Now you make me think again. Afterall there are pictures of the last eleven years on the NASA site; quite a lot for many people to look all of them. Besides, not all the pictures are of cosmic nature; there are pictures like for example one which shows an old car allegedly demolished by a meteorite.

So, why not? I will do the selection and post the most breathtaking ones every day. As I said, since the site contains thousands of pictures in its archive, I may even post two or three a day. We will see. Thank you for the reminder, sis! And this is for you personally:

http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/image/0511/v838feb04_hst_bck.jpg

Willa, yes it was sister Imagine who first introduced us the site a couple of years ago. I didn´t forget that at all. What a shame that I didn´t mention her name. I have been thinking of her lately.

Philia,

Stunning!

RE: Beyond Words! - Willa - 05-03-2007 05:13 PM

For my grateful sis - 1 Corinthians 2:9,10:
However, as it is written:
   "No eye has seen,
      no ear has heard,
   no mind has conceived
   what God has prepared for those who love him"
— but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit.
[NIV]

It's from Isaiah 64:4 - Such awesome sentiments expressed, so here's a few more verses:
4 Since ancient times no one has heard,
       no ear has perceived,
       no eye has seen any God besides you,
       who acts on behalf of those who wait for him.

5 You come to the help of those who gladly do right,
       who remember your ways.
       But when we continued to sin against them,
       you were angry.
       How then can we be saved?

6 All of us have become like one who is unclean,
       and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags;
       we all shrivel up like a leaf,
       and like the wind our sins sweep us away.

7 No one calls on your name
       or strives to lay hold of you;
       for you have hidden your face from us
       and made us waste away because of our sins.

8 Yet, O LORD, you are our Father.
       We are the clay, you are the potter;
       we are all the work of your hand.

9 Do not be angry beyond measure, O LORD;
       do not remember our sins forever.
       Oh, look upon us, we pray,
       for we are all your people
.

:worthy:He is an AWESOME God!:pray: :dance:Hallelujah!:yahoo:

Yes, please - you can be our :star:Star Guide:star: Teshome! :coolmusic:'...baby, you can be a star...' Lol.
What a co-inky-dink - I've been thinking of Imagine lately too, and wondering how she's managing... great, I 'imagine';). With all those thoughts roaming around out there - maybe she's thinking of us too? :) She sure was great 'association'(lol), especially in the beginning of my 'awakening', and I benefitted greatly from her intelligence, balance and loving spirit. She's always included in my prayers, along with the huge cloud friends who love our Father with their whole hearts and minds.:friends: I wish everyone who's found a niche in my heart would roost in the same place forever and get along brilliantly:love:  ...and we'll all live happily ever after!:birds: ... skipping off into the paradise sunset... :rainbow: "La-la-la-lala-laaa-la-la-lala-laaaaa!" :chacha:

:hug: Awesome stuff there my brother!! It is quite a breath-taking journey that one can take into the cosmological side of existence -- it can give a person a glimpse into the sheer wonderment that our Father exudes throughout His awesome creation! Even when we look at our home planet, we see what seems like an infinitude of the manifested potential of Life - not some haphazard random occurance - and yet, when we view images of our Fathers Cosmo-handiwork, ones head has a tendency to explode!!! :hug:

RE: Beyond Words! - Willa - 06-24-2007 09:31 AM

That last one was especially beautiful, Tesh - I've always longed to see aurora borealis in the skies... but they're not visible here in Indiana.(to my knowledge) However, almost every night my husband and I are amazed by the beyond-words beauty of each unique sunset. Sometimes he comes in from outside and urges me to "go look RIGHT NOW!" - even if I have to suspend dinner preparations(lol) - and we share one more unbelievably gorgeous sight. With a practically unobstructed view to the west, every night we do the ooo's and aaah's over our Father's most elaborate artistry - it's AWESOME! HE'S beyond awesome!

I'm SO enjoying this - continue on my awesome brother!:friends::hug:

Wow, Tesh - these pics are unreal! Fantasmagorical!(maybe I made that word up!)
I thought of fire and ice on that last one...:shocked::D
Sometimes the sunset skies here are unreal, too. Last night they were the brightest hot pink imaginable - beautiful! But if I were to paint the scene on canvas, I'm afraid I couldn't capture it's thrilling beauty and it would look totally contrived and unrealistic. There is no mimicing God's awesome artistry. :artist: He's the Master Painter of the Heavens!
Thank you brother - I'm enjoying them all SO much!

RE: Beyond Words! - AlienResident - 07-04-2007 06:39 AM

Greetings everyone,

Here is a pic. of an aurora Over Edmondton

Explanation: Northern and southern locales saw many a beautiful aurora over the last week, as particles from several large solar flares impacted the Earth. Many reported unusually red auroras, although colors across the spectrum were also seen. Power grids and orbiting satellites braced for the onslaught, but little lasting damage was reported. Pictured above, the Clover Bar Power Plant was photographed from the banks of the North Saskatchewan River in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. A small pond in the foreground reflects predominantly green aurora light far in the distance. Two days ago, again unexpectedly, another large solar flare occurred from sunspot group 10486, the site of other recent major flares. This unusually active solar region is now rotating to the far side of the Sun.

Have a beautiful day,

AR

AR

RE: Beyond Words! - AlienResident - 07-13-2007 01:16 PM

Hi folks,

I invite you to have a look at this pic., one of the most beautiful.

Explanation: Some 60 million light-years away in the southerly constellation Corvus, two large galaxies have collided. But stars in the two galaxies - NGC 4038 and NGC 4039 - don't collide in the course of the ponderous, billion year or so long event. Instead, their large clouds of molecular gas and dust do, triggering furious episodes of star formation. Spanning about 500 thousand light-years, this stunning view reveals new star clusters and matter flung far from the scene of the accident by gravitational tidal forces. Of course, the visual appearance of the far-flung arcing structures gives the galaxy pair its popular name - The Antennae. Recorded in this deep image of the region at the tip of the upper arc is a tidal dwarf galaxy NGC 4038S, formed in the cosmic debris.

Praise be to our God!!!

Hi folks,

Thank you Iso,

Sorry for the interruption of the pictures for some days because the NASA site which porvides us the pictures was down.

Anyway, here is another beautiful picture for the start of the week.

The Lagoon Nebula in Gas, Dust, and Stars

Explanation: Stars are battling gas and dust in the Lagoon Nebula but the photographers are winning. Also known as M8, this photogenic nebula is visible even without binoculars towards the constellation of Sagittarius. The energetic processes of star formation create not only the colors but the chaos. The red-glowing gas results from high-energy starlight striking interstellar hydrogen gas. The dark dust filaments that lace M8 were created in the atmospheres of cool giant stars and in the debris from supernovae explosions. The light from M8 we see today left about 5,000 years ago. Light takes about 50 years to cross this section of M8.

Agape to you,

RE: Beyond Words! - AlienResident - 07-17-2007 06:10 PM

Hi everyone,

Thanks sister,

But what about this one?

Explanation: The Pelican Nebula lies about 2,000 light-years away in the high flying constellation Cygnus, the Swan. Also known as IC 5070, this cosmic pelican is appropriately found just off the "east coast" of the North America Nebula (NGC 7000), another surprisingly familiar looking emission nebula in Cygnus. The Pelican and North America nebulae are part of the same large and complex star forming region, almost as nearby as the better-known Orion Nebula. From our vantage point, dark dust clouds (upper left) help define the Pelican's eye and long bill, while a bright front of ionized gas suggests the curved shape of the head and neck. Based on digitized black and white images from the Samuel Oschin Telescope at Palomar Observatory, this striking synthesized color view includes two bright foreground stars and spans about 30 light-years at the estimated distance of the Pelican Nebula.

RE: Beyond Words! - AlienResident - 07-18-2007 11:14 AM

Greetings fellow worshippers, Hope you are all okay.

Add to your day this;

Explanation: What did the first quasars look like? The nearest quasars are now known to be supermassive black holes in the centers of galaxies. Gas and dust that falls toward a quasar glows brightly, sometimes outglowing the entire home galaxy. The quasars that formed in the first billion years of the universe are more mysterious, though, with even the nature of the surrounding gas still unknown. Above, an artist's impression shows a primordial quasar as it might have been, surrounded by sheets of gas, dust, stars, and early star clusters. Exacting observations of three distant quasars now indicate emission of very specific colors of the element iron. These Hubble Space Telescope observations, which bolster recent results from the WMAP mission, indicate that a whole complete cycle of stars was born, created this iron, and died within the first few hundred million years of the universe.

Much affection,

AR

RE: Beyond Words! - AlienResident - 07-19-2007 10:41 AM

Greetings friends, Today, you are invited to have a look at this;

Explanation: Is there a monster in IC 1396? Known to some as the Elephant's Trunk Nebula, parts of gas and dust clouds of this star formation region may appear to take on foreboding forms, some nearly human. The only real monster here, however, is a bright young star too far from Earth to hurt us. Energetic light from this star is eating away the dust of the dark cometary globule near the top of the above image. Jets and winds of particles emitted from this star are also pushing away ambient gas and dust. Nearly 3,000 light-years distant, the relatively faint IC 1396 complex covers a much larger region on the sky than shown here, with an apparent width of more than 10 full moons.

Christian love,

AR

RE: Beyond Words! - AlienResident - 07-20-2007 08:47 PM

Hi brothers and sisters,

A somewhat tired AlienResident has selected this beautiful picture for you today. This one is given the beautiful name "stars in a bubble".

Explanation: A cosmic bubble of gas and dust, RCW 79 has grown to about 70 light-years in diameter, blown by the winds and radiation from hot young stars. Infrared light from the dust embedded in the nebula is tinted red in this gorgeous false-color view from the Spitzer Space Telescope. A good 17 thousand light-years away in the grand southern constellation Centaurus, the expanding nebula itself has triggered star formation as it plows into the gas and dust surrounding it. In fact, this penetrating infrared picture reveals groups of new stars as yellowish points scattered along the bubble's edge. One remarkable group still lies within its own natal bubble at about 7 o'clock (lower left), while another can be seen near the upper gap at about 3 o'clock (right) from the bubble's center.

Hi Iso,

Thank you so much dear brother. I´m always amazed by your comments.

Wish you a refreshing weekend,

AR

hitomi:happyheart:

RE: Beyond Words! - AlienResident - 07-21-2007 07:23 PM

Hi folks,

Thank you so much for the comment, Hitomi.

And look this;

Explanation: Will it be curtains for one of these auroras? A quick inspection indicates that it is curtains for both, as the designation "curtains" well categorizes the type of aurora pattern pictured. Another (informal) type is the corona. The above auroras resulted from outbursts of ionic particles from the Sun during the last week of September. A polarity change in the solar magnetic field at the Earth then triggered auroras over the next few days. The above picture was taken on October 3 as fleeting space radiation pelted the Earth's atmosphere high above the Yukon in Canada.

Have a wonderful sunday,

AR

The situation can be compared to you living in the abject poverty of city slums and then a corporate executive comes along and tells you you can totally make it and he will help you get there every step along the way, so you will be rich and have everything. The rich life of living in luxery hotels eating the tastiest food no waiting lists a limo with a chauffeur and an annual lunch with the presidents and royalty. Except this time, that is really true. Once we know what abject poverty we'r in on earth we'll do everything to get into heaven and back into the grace of God. We need some vision to keep us focussed.
Which brings me back to pictures of the universe. The aesthetics give a vision and the prettiest pictures give or remind the soul of the lost or forgotten vision.
Jesus is inviting everyone to live the rich heavenly life, abundant in Gods energy, harmony and love.
