After the apostles and congregation in Jerusalem met together to make a decision on the issue of the circumcision they sent out a letter of their agreement.  That letter started by saying, "It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us ..." (Acts 15:28) I find it interesting that after all that deliberation the best they could say about their decision was that it is what "seemed best" to them as they felt they had been lead by the Holy Spirit.   Â
On Sunday in place of our usual PalTalk “think-tank†discussion we talked about arrangements for this year’s “online-Memorialâ€.  Those who met are by no stretch of the imagination on the level as those that sat in that Jerusalem council; but, it is with a similar perspective that we say that this is what "seemed good" to us in arranging for this special occasion.  We pray that we would have our Father's blessing on this as we come together to honor his Son Jesus, and their mutual sacrifice on our behalf.
PalTalk
The memorial will be conducted using PalTalk  online discussion software in the chat-room “Discussion 101â€; which we use for our weekly meetings and many are already familiar with.
If you are new to PalTalk and plan to attend, it may be a good thing to go ahead and install the software and drop by one of the meetings that we hold on Saturday and Sunday (5:30 pm eastern).  This would allow for you to make sure the software is working properly and make any needed adjustments in  your computer's audio settings.  (If your schedule doesn't permit you to drop by during the weekend and you would like to try the software you could arrange another time by PM-ing resolute, man-hu, or myself)
The room is private and password protected so if you do not already have the password please PM resolute or man-hu.
Date & Times
We anticipate having two after-sundown sessions on Monday, April 2; which should accommodate those residing from Alaska to Europe.  (Though our European friends will have to stay up a little late.)  The gatherings are as follows:
Gathering 1
Eastern  7:30 pm
Atlantic  8:30 pm
UKÂ Â 12:30 am
Europe 1:30 am
Africa 2:30 am
Gathering 2
Alaska  8 pm
West Coast 9 pm
Mountain 10 pm
Central 11 pm
You are welcome to attend either or both.
Arrangement
Jesus' sacrifice means much to all of us.  With that in mind it doesn’t seem desirable to limit ourselves to just having one brother giving a public discourse in the traditional manner.  In congregations in the first century it was more of a family atmosphere and open participation was encouraged. (1 Corinthians 14:26)  Therefore, if sisters or brothers would wish to share their own dignified expressions about Jesus and the night they are welcome to, either in type-chat or with a computer microphone.  At the same time we are mindful of the need to make sure everything takes place “decently and by arrangement†so a brother will take the lead in conducting and arranging for different brothers to pray over the emblems.  (1 Cor 14:40) Â
(I would invite any of our brothers who plan on attending either of the sessions and are in position to assist with prayer to PM me.)
Therefore the format for the evening this year will be as follows:
Opening Prayer
Open Congregation Participation
Prayers and passing of the emblems
Concluding thoughts and prayer by brother
Conclusion
Whether or not you will be joining us online or opting for attending at the Kingdom Hall or holding your own private observance with family and friends we ask that you keep us in prayer.  In order for us to have success we need God’s backing so please make continued supplication over the next few weeks.
We look forward to all who will be able to join us for this special night of togetherness.  If you are not able to make it, it is our intention to record both sessions and make them available at MemorialofChrist.com for later listening.
May God bless you through his son Jesus and may all of our hearts be filled with love and joy during this special season.
