Some scriptural thoughts on Christian qualities :heartbeat:
Valuing others :heartbeat:
''My brothers and sisters, God called you to be free,
but do not use your freedom as an excuse to do
what pleases your sinful self. Serve each other with love.
The whole law is made complete in this one command:
''Love your neighbor as you love yourself.''
Galatians 5: 13-14
''Let us think about each other and
help each other to show love and do good works.''
Hebrews 10:24
Serve Others :heartbeat:
''If there are poor among you,
in one of the towns of the land the LORD your God
is giving you, do not be selfish or greedy toward them,
But give freely to them, and freely lend them
whatever they need.'' Deuteronomy 15: 7,8
''A brother or sister in Christ might need clothes or food.
If you say to that person ''God be with you!
I hope you stay warm and get plenty to eat,''
but you do not give what that person needs,
your words are worth nothing.'' James 2: 15,16 ..(strong admonishion)
Forgiviing Others :heartbeat:
forgiveness is something that took me a while to fully understand in that we have no right to withhold from others what we ourselves so desperately need for ourselves from God and Christ--then one day I got it :heartbeat:
''God has chosen you and made you his holy people.
He loves you. So always do these things:
Show mercy to others, be kind, humble, gentle, and patient.
Get along with each other, and forgive each other.
If someone does wrong to you, forgive that person
because the Lord forgave you.'' Col. 3: 12.13
''Be kind and loving to each other,
and forgive each other just as God
forgave you in Christ.'' Ephesians 4:32
Hospitality :heartbeat:
a favorite and intriguing scripture :heartbeat:
''Remember to welcome strangers, because some who
have done this have welcomed angels without knowing it.
Remember those who are in prison as if you were
in prison with them. Remember those who are suffering
as if you were suffering with them. Hebrews 13: 2,3
Compassion :heartbeat:
A quality desperately needed in this world and one we get to
work on every day if we so choose...
''But I say to you, love your enemies.
Pray for those who hurt you. IF you do this,
you will be true children of your Father in heaven.''
Matthew 5: 44-45...
and finally for tonight...
''This is how we know what real love is: Jesus gave
his life for us. So we should give our lives for our brothers
and sisters. Suppose someone has enough to live and sees
a brother or sister in need, but does not help. Then, God's
love is not living in that person. My children,
we should love people not only with words and talk,
but by our actions and true caring.'' 1 John 3: 16-18
How true is this--don't just tell people that you love them--
show them :heartbeat:
have a wonderful sunday evening friends--
it's all about love :heartbeat:
