I am not a JW but i am a christian am i saved, Biblical reasons please

 Hi damo!!

Welcome to the forum!! The answer is yes, you are saved. Faith in Christ - Faith in Truth - is what saves a person -- not religious affiliation. Those who believe that membership to a religion saves you, are mistaken. Your Faith is in Christ, or it is not in Christ - simple as that. JWs, Baptists, Pentecostals, and everyone else, are saved due to Faith in Christ, not the label they wear.

May LOVE be with you!

your bro -- beau! :friends::friends::friends:
Hi Damo--I too agree with Beau. It is faith that 'saves' us--

''The Good News shows how God makes people
right with himself--that it begins and ends with faith.'' Romans 1:17

and it is such a beautiful Gift Damo--

''But God's mercy is great, and he loved us very much.
Though we were spiritually dead because of the things
we did against God, he gave us new life with Christ.
You have been saved by God's grace.'' Eph.2:4-5

welcome to Paradise Cafe by the way :hibye:
Hello Damo,

Welcome to the forum.  You posed an interesting first question!  I believe Beau and Wolfie gave wonderful answers to the fact that it is not dependant on religious affiliation, in order to be saved.

My answer is in Romans 3:22-24

"even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jeusus Christ, to all and on all who believe, for there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Being justified freely by his grace through redemption that is in the Christ"

Are you saved?  Well by saying you are a christian really does not answer that question for us.  This is a self examination, that you must make based on the scriptures that describe faith in Jesus and the fruitages thereof.  We can be comforted however that if we demonstrate the desired faith in Jesus, we can, and are one of Abraham's seed, and heir to the promise.

Romans 2:28,29 . "for he is not a jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh; but he is a jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart; in the spirit, not in the letter; whoses praise is not from men but from God."

The books of Hebrews and Romans, are beautiful explinations of the nonpartiality of God.  And how Faith in Jesus is the requirement for salvation.

Love

Welcome damo.....read my signature line....and what the Lord Jesus said about the ones who accepted and believed in Him as Christ the Son of God and put faith in him and believed.....WHO WERE BEING SAVED.
If you are of the anointed class, you are not saved till you die faithful.
If you are of the earthly class you are not saved for about another 1000 years :)
Hi Wibble....how are you doing...

the thinking of only after the 1000 yrs being saved does this also apply to ones who proved faithful already.....ones such as Abraham offering up his son Isaac.....as the JW teach Abraham had the earthly hope?

Take Care

Sandi

Jesus seems to disagree with you.

Jhn 5:24 "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.

I don't know. I don't even know if the offer of 'everlasting life' will be guaranteed after the 1000 years. It might be that we can live forever but it might always be possible for us to turn around and go bad. Satan was perfect when he sinned. So was Adam. But I guess we'll just have to wait and see. :)

And I can pull out a passage that suggests we can fall away again. It is easy to take this or that verse from here or from there but you need to look at the whole picture sometimes.

It's easier just to believe what Jesus said.

There are no scriptures taken in context that teach that one of Jesus sheep can be lost. The Bible and Jesus Himself say that is an impossibility. Jesus never loses any sheep. He is the Good Shepherd.

I pray that someday you will rest in the fact that Jesus loves you, and will never forsake you.

Actually this is proof to me that some will indeed have everlasting life.
only if we agree of course that we believe second death is at the end of the thousand years.

Revelation 20:6
Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.

HI IKOWNHIM,, YEs we are safe with Jesus

Well it looks like second death occurs before the thousand years for the wild beast and the false prophet. Also if second death occurs after the thousand years ther is nothing I can see saying it will not go on forever. So it is possible that second death could occur beyond the 1000 year point.

I also believe that some will live forever. I think there is a point in spiritual development beyond which there is no turning to the 'dark side'. When living (potentially) forever eventually you might just get far too smart to behave in a negative manner. All those who harbour a selfish disposition who might stumble you would have been hurled into second death millennia ago.

But its all speculation.

I agree that we are safe with Christ. he will not lose any sheep. Some sheep might lose him though. Christ does not fore anyone to remain faithful.

Let me ask you, are sheep safe because they are smart, have sharp fangs, and defend one another?

Ask any shepherd, sheep will walk right off a cliff if left alone. There is a reason Jesus used sheep as an illustration. They are defenseless, and dumb.

What is it in your life that gives you any indication that you could remain faithful for ten minutes? When I came to Christ it was the fact that I could not be faithful that drove me to Him.

Without a Good Shepherd sheep would be dead in short order. They cannot protect themselves AND they wander off NATURALLY. Humans are the same way, only some of them don't know it and are enamored with their ability to keep themselves saved.

It is the JW appeal to human pride that keeps many from trusting In Jesus Christ, and His ability to save to the utmost.

There is nothing good in the flesh is there?  The good we have is from God and Christ, a relfection of them.  No good comes Naturally!  It seems to me the only things that stems from us is faith.  Enough Faith in Christ so that we can recognize his voice.

It is all about humility, and submission to the head..Christ.

Good example!
