1 I AM waiting, ever waiting,
For the brighter, better day,
Just beyond the clouds and shadows,
That surround my lonely way;
For a day of light and gladness,
Such as earth has never known.
When in equity and justice,
Christ shall reign on David's throne.

2 All the prophets of past ages
Saw its brightness from afar,
And in words sublime have spoken
Of the peace and glory there.
They have slept in those green valleys,
Which in weariness they trod;
Soon they'll come with songs of triumph,
To the holy mount of God.

3  Now the world is full of suffering.
Sounds of woe fall on my ears,
Sights of wretchedness and sorrow
Fill my eyes with piting tears.
'Tis the earth's dark night of weeping;
Wrong and evil triumph then'
I can wait, for just before me
Beams the morning's roseate glow.

4  I am waiting, hoping, praying
For Messiah's glorious reign
For I know he'll rule in justice;
Right and truth will triumph then.
Worldly pleasures cannot win me,
while I wait for that Bright day,
Worldly splendour cannot charm me,
While its light beams on my way

Author Unknown to me
We bless Thee for Thy peace O God,
Deep as th' unfathomed sea,
Which falls like sunshine on the road
Of those who trust in Thee.

We ask not, Father, for repose,
Which comes from outward rest,
If we may have through all life's woes
Thy peace within our breast;

That peace which suffers and is strong,
Trusts where it cannot see,
Deems not the trial way too long,
But leaves the end with Thee;

That peace which flows serene and deep,
A river in the soul,
Whose banks a living verdure keep-
God's sunshine o'er the whole.

O Father, give our hearts this peace,
Whate'er the outward be,
Till all life's discipline shall cease,
And we go home to thee.

Thy Will be done, I pray, in Jesus holy name.
Hi jaycee,
Hope you don't mind but I suggested having your posts moved to your own thread since there seems to be confusion as to who wrote what and I really don't want to be given credit for writing something that you wrote. Keep up the fine work!
Love,

Thanks S.W. I am not knowing yet just how this forum works. When an inspiration hits my mind I just click on reply. :confused:

Does what you mean put me somewhere else on this forum? It seems the only thing changed is the heading "Poems by Jaycee". Is that what you did?

Sorry, I do seem to be computer challenged at times.

Warm Regard...

Hi jaycee,
No, I think what the board administration did was simply put your poems into their own thread to avoid confusion. Not to worry. It's good to have your own thread. That way we get to see your creativity grow.

Well done! Jaycee!

I would like to invite you to share this poem, and any more you have like it on the prayer thread, as it is in essence, a prayer.
