I am figuring that Elijah and the prophet in many of the new testament books are the representation of the two witnesses in the book of revalation.

Does anyone have any insight on this?
It seems that the nation of isreal was dilegently looking forward to Elijah return. as he was one of the first that people guessed as having come.

Thanks,
TD

He will be in Jerusalem soon I have been told personally. He is already making his rounds through-out the lands Jesus walked. You will all soon know.

Hi TD,

Re; "the prophet in many of the new testament books"

Which particular prophet do you have in mind?

Hi NH,

You wrote;

Can you elaborate please?

Hey AR,

My memory is not what is was. Okay well that is a lie.
I never had a good memory. not short term anyways..

I beleive whatever I was reading was spured the Idea that Isreal was expecting to see Elijah, and the scripts refer to him and another unamed prophet in the NT and specifically the book of REV.. I would have to go back and see if I can get the same pic I had before.
and somehow I believe that these were or are linked to the 2 witnesses.

Thanks for the inquiry?

I was wondering about this statement too.

10 However, the disciples put the question to him: “Why, then, do the scribes say that E·li´jah must come first?” 11 In reply he said: “E·li´jah, indeed, is coming and will restore all things. 12 However, I say to YOU that E·li´jah has already come and they did not recognize him but did with him the things they wanted. In this way also the Son of man is destined to suffer at their hands.” 13 Then the disciples perceived that he spoke to them about John the Baptist. (MT 17, NWT)

Is another Elijah needed?
