Do you ever just sit back take in everything that everyone is saying and wonder to yourself, "what's missing"? There has never been an event in Bible history where something significant occurred that was not initiated by Jehovah himself. It has always been that way and will always be that way. "It does not belong to you to get to know the times or the seasons that the father has placed in his own jurisdiction." "Keep on the watch because you do not know on what day your Lord is coming." We are to keep on the watch for this event that will be initiated by Jehovah himself. You can watch world events all day every day and it will never tell you when your Lord is coming. WWI, WWII, WWIII, WWIV, so what. Iran, Iraq, conspiracy theories, false prophets, economic collapse, so what. This stuff ebbs and flow throughout history. The only difference is there are a lot more people today. "Where is this promised presence of his? For everything is continuing exactly as from creations beginning." Peter gave us the admonition that God is being patient with us, "Jehovah is not slow respecting his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with YOU because he does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance.". Yet also Jehovah will act as Peter went on to say, "Yet Jehovah’s day will come as a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a hissing noise, but the elements being intensely hot will be dissolved, and earth and the works in it will be discovered." Those caught off guard or who let down their moral guard completely are the ones who are caught by Jehovah's judgment, "and by those [means] the world of that time suffered destruction when it was deluged with water. But by the same word the heavens and the earth that are now are stored up for fire and are being reserved to the day of judgment and of destruction of the ungodly men." So you can either keep on watching the world of ungodly men and all that they do, guessing about the end of the world, or you can do as Paul put it, "... keep strict watch that how YOU walk is not as unwise but as wise [persons], buying out the opportune time for yourselves, because the days are wicked. On this account cease becoming unreasonable, but go on perceiving what the will of Jehovah is. Also, do not be getting drunk with wine, in which there is debauchery, but keep getting filled with spirit, speaking to yourselves with psalms and praises to God and spiritual songs, singing and accompanying yourselves with music in YOUR hearts to Jehovah, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ giving thanks always for all things to our God and Father." Remember, when Jehovah initiates the end of this system of things he promised that, "For the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will not do a thing unless he has revealed his confidential matter to his servants the prophets. 8 There is a lion that has roared! Who will not be afraid? The Sovereign Lord Jehovah himself has spoken! Who will not prophesy?’ Have you been prophesied to today?
