Hello all

Who or What is the Harlot city ?

I am having to reform some ideas or beliefs I think. I believed the Harlot was religion, but after a few readings on this web-site and looking at the over all picture of the world and how it works and of course reading the Bible.
What is so important to every Government, religion and Peoples that would get us all and i mean the world gashing and crying over if one of them Burned to ashes?
Or would it be all of them Burning to ashes at once for the world to get upset so bad?
I do not know if i worded this right, i hope that somebody does understand what i am asking. I am much better at speaking than writing, please excuse me for not being able to explain exactly what i am asking.

Its just the "Kings of the Earth" and the "Travelling Merchants" who are upset about the destruction of Babylon the Great.


9 “And the kings of the earth who committed fornication with her and lived in shameless luxury will weep and beat themselves in grief over her, when they look at the smoke from the burning of her, 10 while they stand at a distance because of their fear of her torment and say, ‘Too bad, too bad, you great city, Babylon you strong city, because in one hour your judgment has arrived!’

You absolutely have to understand who those "Kings of the Earth" and the "Travelling Merchants" are before you can ascertain what the City is.

It helps to understand what imagery John is drawing upon.

I recommend you first read Jeremiah 51, to see how Jehovah described ancient Babylon, the capital of Babylonia.

She sat on "abounding waters" (vs 13), her judgment reached to the sky (vs 9), she was the "praise of the whole earth" (vs 41), and she was the cause of the slain ones of Israel and all the earth (vs 49).

Then read Nahum 3. Nahum is about "the pronouncement against Ninevah" (1:1), the capital of Assyria. Ninevah the city is described as a prostitute and "mistress of sorceries" (3:4).

Finally, read Isaiah 23, God's pronouncement against Tyre. Tyre was described as "the bestower of crowns, whose merchants were princes, whose tradesmen were the honorable ones of the earth", who would be despoiled by the Chaldeans.

The city "Babylon the Great" is very similar to the ancient capitals Babylon and Ninevah. Ninevah acted like a prostitute and sorceress, Babylon like a presumptous, bloodthirsty woman. "Babylon The Great" was also like Tyre, a great trading city.

The city that, in John's day already fits this description was Rome.

She ruled the earth at the time, (just as ancient Babylon ruled the earth of its time... compare Luke 2:1), was a major trading city, and was the home of the pagan gods just as ancient Babylon was.

Of course, there's is much more to tie "Babylon the Great" to Rome:

- 1st century Christians and Jews used "Babylon" as a symbol for Rome in other writings. (Peter alludes to this in 1 Peter 5:13.)

- Rome devastated Jerusalem and the Temple, just as Babylon did.

- Rome sat on seven hills, and was known as "the city of the seven hills"

- With the exception of Jerusalem, only the city of Rome killed apostles (specifically, Peter and Paul)

- Rome has been responsible for shedding tons of Christian blood

- In Daniel, the Roman empire has 10 horns... the beast the "woman" sits on also has 10 horns, making perfect sense if the beast is the empire, and the woman is Rome itself.

- The system of emperors explains how the system can have 7 heads and also be an 8th, like a CYCLE (or days of the week). They do NOT represent world empires, which are represented in the BODY of the beast instead (Rev 13:2).

The Kings of the Earth morn because they will be put out of their governmental positions. The merchants will morn because the governments are the biggest consumers in the world. The religions are included in with the "Kings"

The "kings of the earth" will weep and beat themselves in grief because they will never get to rule in Jesus Christs Kingdom.

50 the master of that slave will come on a day that he does not expect and in an hour that he does not know, 51 and will punish him with the greatest severity and will assign him his part with the hypocrites. There is where [his] weeping and the gnashing of [his] teeth will be.

The travelling merchants will weep becasue they will no longer be able to go door to door in the house to house ministry selling Satan's lie and buyng more people with it.

The 8th King will rule for only 1 hour. Then the mark of the beast will no longer work. No one will be able to buy or sell. The world will be grinding their teeth, all except the witnesses of Jesus. They did not accept the mark of the Beast. They will have already gotten out of BTG.

I want to comment on the statement 'kings of the earth' often because of the types of real kings we have today people read and think in Rev it is refering only to a small elite group of kings.

I've come to realize every man is also king because in the garden of Eden it says man was to 'reign' over the animals and such. Now that adds a lot more into the mix of who is involved and affected by the Harlot yes?

Yes all men/women are a type of king, because we are so much higher than any other life on this planet.

Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."

Psalm 8:5 Yet You have made him a little lower than God,
And You crown him with glory and majesty!
6You make him to rule over the works of Your hands;
You have put all things under his feet,
7All sheep and oxen,
And also the beasts of the field,

We are kings in relation to the earth not to each other. I feel this has a huge bearing on what it means to be a 'King' in Gods kingdom also.

I remember that I came to the conclusion that the Kings of the earth = the "old man" (or basically the flesh), as per Ephesians 4...


But you have not so learned Christ, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts," v19-22

And Colossians 1...

And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works,...v21

And Colossians 3...

Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds v9


The "old man" can be seen as the human expression of the "wicked one" which is satan. With this in mind, it makes some other scriptures look a little different too, or at least add some lateral meaning....


We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him. We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one. - 1 John 5:18-19

There's a few other comparative prophecies or verses that can help with the identification.

Ezekiel 16 - Here, Israel is given virtually the identical description of Revelation. As a matter of fact, you'll find the woman at first and then she becomes the harlot.

Micah 5:3 - Identifies Israel as the woman who gives birth

Gal 4:21-30 - Jerusalem is identified as Hagar, a woman who gives birth in labor pains. New Jerusalem is identified as Hagar's antitype Sarah, who is barren with no labor pains, but fruitful from Gods spirit.

We could say that Ezekiel and Micah were addressing Israel long before Jesus, and they had been fulfilled. But still it's as if every Jew would have known that woman=protected Israel, Harlot=alienated Israel...the head being Jerusalem.

I believe the harlot city is Hollywood.
It will fall. It is corruption to the highest level.

Religion are also harlots.

I was shown that Hollywood is part of the 7 heads of Leviathan. I saw God's fist crush it. When He did it caused a great earthquake.
