Dear brothers and sisters,
Your prayers for me would be very much appreciated. I go to the Newcastle Cancer Centre in the North of England next monday for blood tests and I am hoping I shall have good remission figures once again.
It may be as much as two weeks after the test this time before I get my results.
I know that I am in God's hands, and I am not worrying and have peace of mind.
Prayer, whether answered directly by physical healing or not, is a tremendous comfort and to know others are praying for oneself and family helps a lot.
Healing comes, perhaps not always in a physical way, but I hope and pray for the best prognosis.
The fact I have had such good remission figures in the past was beyond my wildest dream three and half years ago when I was given a poor prognosis.
I thank God every day because life is such a precious gift.
Often we forgot the family members of those who have a serious condition because I know my d.w. has suffered far more vicariously than I have personally.
Warm Christian love
Your brother in Christ
Derek

Prayer for Those With Cancer
Bless, O God,
all who struggle with cancer.
Empower them with hope
for each and every day.
Provide them with loving
and tender care, laughter,
and the support of love.
Grant them
courage when they are afraid,
comfort when they are in pain,
and your blessing
when all else seems hopeless,
that in their fight with illness
they may continue to praise you
and glorify your name.
Amen.

Dearest Derek,
Of course you will be in our prayers!!! We love you very much, and will be thinking of you as you get your test, as you wait for the results, and when you finally see the results, know that are prayers are ascending to heaven at that very moment on your behalf.
With much love and affection,
Your sister,
Micah
Greetings dear brother Derek, may you be constantly comforted by the love and kindness of our Great God Jehovah, and bathe in the love and peace of His son Jesus Christ.
Though you and I have never met nor spoken, we have shared the wonderful brotherhood we all enjoy on this DB. Your many words of spiritually minded thoughts have many times encouraged me and made me grow more and more. And yes my brother you are in my prayers along with all the many others who are like minded in your behalf. Your words above are even greater encouragement to me than I may be able to impart to you. But please know, I am with you my brother in every way.
May you be well, and may Jehovah continue to bless you and keep you in good health now and into eternity, love brother Fred.
Derek,
Our prayers will be with you and your Wife. Please know our love goes with you.

Dear Derek,
Yes, life is a wonderful gift and especially more so enjoyable with good health.
I hope you are here for some time yet as I enjoy your kind and uplifting words in your posts so much.
Prayers and love sent to you and your wife for strength.
Tessa
My dear friends,
Many thanks for your prayers.  Knowing prayers are being offered on one's behalf is calming and peace inducing. But more so is the knowledge prayer is answered by YHWH our Father and his beloved Son. They hear us and act according the will of God. It is a great help to the Christian knowing this. Ultimately, we are all in God's hands and our eternal welfare is assured. However, we try to 'hang on' to this present tent and the love we share with family and friends as long as possible.  Life is sweet and every day is a precious gift and has new horizons for us.
I had the results yesterday from the cancer centre and I have the same very low psa reading I've had since the radiotherapy three years ago,(It stays below a thousandth of what it was on diagnosis)Â Â I have noticed a change in energy levels since I stopped having the second line therapy six months ago and feel much fitter after walking up hill most days for over two months.
My state now is beyond my wildest dream 3.5 years ago when I was given a very bleak prognosis.
All praise, whatever the outcome for us in this world, goes to the Father and his beloved Son who are with us in all adversity.
Blessings and peace to you all
Your brother in Christ

That's great news,Derek.:thumbsup:You must feel so good and excited about life! Yes, life is indeed precious, and it's only in moments like this that we tend to realise it. We should be so grateful every day for what we have, even if it's only little. To wake up each day is a gift we should never forget. And do our best to make the most of the day ahead of us, and to be thankful always to Jehovah. Enjoy your day, Derek.
