OK, if you can answer my riddle, I'll tell you how to defeat the Axis Lords... or something.
When God created Adam, how old would he look, using modern scientific methods?
I fully realize this is hypothetical, because we can neither take our scientific knowledge and break into the garden of Eden, or pop him out of his grave and stick him in a test tube.
But indulge my riddle ... if we COULD take our scientific knowledge back to the Garden of Eden...
... and hook up Adam to our scientific equipment...
How old would our scientific equipment tells us Adam was, immediately after God created him?
I am going to call this Adam's Paradox, in advance. I look forward to an eye-opening discussion (that will inevitably end in name-calling and a big stand-off ... but we can always enjoy the ride in the meantime :P )
Well, it wouldnt work, because you would have to go through a Peer review first.....
Ok, I'm in. This is what Einstein called a "thought experiment"
Assuming that Adam was created from elements (dust) that were already lying around, and had no life in them, and had some "age", I would guess that the scientific instruments would gage his body to be as old as the atoms that make up his body. The atoms are as old as the Universe.
But if you ask how would he look to the examiners, he would look brand new, Like a brand new car which is made of old recycled steel.
His biological age would be as a baby's.

I could use the voices in my head... would that count?
:D

Yay... a "thought experiment"! I know there must be a better name than "riddle". :D

OK, you've raised an important point here... it depends on what measure we're using.

Could you elaborate on this?
For example... if we were to put Adam next to, say... a healthy 25 year old man ... (yes, we have the technology to do this!) ... in what way would Adam be different?
Beyond the belly button thing... :D
Im guessing here. No difference.

Hmm. Interesting. Would there be ANY way we could use our current scientific knowledge to correctly work out Adam's age?
(And I don't mean cheat and look at the CCTV footage ;) )
I mean by actually examining Adam, scientifically. After all, he'd look brand new... but so does a healthy 25 year old man...
bubble, bubble, toil and trouble
zero years, -- we then must double
divide by seven, then times three
he's still a zero, fur's i can see :D
OK me darlings lets try something just slightly different.
What is Aionion Zoe?
We get a clue in John 17:3
Sorry I am at work and can only type in short bursts.
Love vixy
bubble, bubble, toil and trouble
Witchcraft... burn him alive! :rant::rant::rant:
Just kiddin', of course.
I sold my Isomam Burning Machine a while back.

Isn't that how they count the "times of the Gentiles"? :D
he's still a zero, fur's i can see :D
Ah, but now... looking at Adam, how do you know he's zero years?
To e-magine, he'd see a 25 year old man.
Remember, you can't cheat. How would he look "zero"?
Come on, Iso... play the game... it's fun :D:D
WE shed atoms everyday, and add atoms to our body thru food assimilation. These atoms construct our living cells They say that the longest living cells are at most 7 years old. So if the investigators could detect the age of Adam's cells, they would deduce that he is 7 years old.
So.....if one averaged the life span of cells (between o (zero) and 7 (seven) one might deduce a 3.5 (three and a half) year age. :bouncy::neofly::excited:
:coffeeread:
Hmmmm...how old Adam looked when he was created....
FIRST of all, since the only thing we know is how an sin-born person ages, this is comparing apples to oranges. We simply have no idea what real, God-intended, "normal" looks like. All we know is that we are born, grow up, age, and die. Since the God-given REAL normal doesn't include the aging and dying, this is an impossible question to answer accurately.

Quite so gogh! Of course, any age at all would be an illusion if God created him instantly.
