Wow Sis, you DO realize, according to this article, "the fact that the tablets were found in Israel suggests they might have had an influence on Old Testament writers."

"tablets that appear to contain legal pronouncements similar to the Code of Hammurabi".... I thought it was all dictated word for word from God?

Aside from that, to steal part of a little line from Mahatma Ghandi (those dang Easterners!), if "a tooth for a tooth" was really the way to go, I think it wouldn't be long before everybody looked like this:
