My wife and I went to see this movie last night -- and boy was it AWESOME!!! Now, I am a HUGE Sci-fi fan, and while this isnt a full on Sci-fi, it was just incredible!! I rate >> Inception << as one of the greatest movies of all time - perhaps this is due to the subject matter being of supreme interest to me, but it was everything - the storyline, the screenplay, the imaginative slanting, the cohesive fluidity of the concepts -- just amazing!! If you havent seen this movie, and are thinking of seeing it -- I HIGHLY recommend it!! We are going to watch it again next week!! :cheer:
Ive never been a big Leonardo DiCaprio fan, but he did a stellar job of holding the emotional rollescoaster in tact!
For those who dont know the storyline, its about dreams, imagination, reality.....GO SEE IT!!!!!!! :cheer::cheer::cheer:
Hey sunshine:) Thanks for the critique and trailer. It looks like a biggie!
When my son and I were watching the trailer we said: "Dark City" meets "Dreamscape" meets "Minority Report" (sorta) on steroids.
Lookin' forward to seeing it.
love,:siskiss:

Yeah -- im still blown away by it -- its the sort of movie I long and yearn to see -- one that really gets you involved, emotionally, intellectually and imaginatively (sp?).....my head was fully blown when we walked out of the cinema! It was especially cool because we have been studying NLP, Lingusitics and other similar modalities...it was just soooooo good on sooooo many levels...:clap:
I would also add in The Matrix, to the movies you and your son thought of while watching the trailer -- one thing I did notice - was that while it did have CGI in it, it wasnt heavily reliant on it, and instead allowed the storyline to come to the fore -- I thought it was going to be a real Matrix-style fest - it was to a point, but interestingly, there was a lack of CGI bits.....I dont think there is anything shady about the film, in terms of being a Christian and watching it -- of course, I am a tad liberal in my thinking, so....;):D:dontknow::thumbsup:
And the way the ending worked in at the end -- just PERFECT! Love always finds a way.....ill leave it at that though! Book your tickets and go see it! :grouphug::funnyface::friends::hug:
Love ya sis!....and yes, me and the wifey are doing great!...sorry I havent gotten back to you via the pm's....im a real slacker at times! :crybaby::thinking:;):drinking::grouphug:
Watch it, so I can see what you thought! :drinking:

What I love about that sort of sci-fi is that it deals with issues that are easily dismissed in the real world. My favorite literature of that genre that I read by the hundreds in the 50's and early 60's, was the social-psychological "what if" sort. So often it dealt with freedom, tolerance and...as you mentioned ... love and the best side of human nature winning out in the end.
Now, it's becoming our real world as dark forces battle for control with the aid of new technologies of mind control.
In our family, we dealt with anything negative by Christian standards through having in-depth discussions. When the children were young my hubby and I would take in the movie without them. If we felt is was appropriate to their age and development we'd see it again....with the children!
Question: Did you like it as much as AVATAR? I know...different sort of story, but I'm curious.
Say hi to Terri for me and give her my love. You take a heaping helping for yourself too.
