Wolfie,

Yes, I do recall similar on bloodguilt, also the marking work to coincide with a book released at the time... Ezekiel I think it was. Man with the marking pen.

It was a heavy load to carry wasn't it? Christ has relieved us and given the freedom we needed.

Hope you are well in Maine.:giverose:

Most of of those replies are typical of church-goers.
The fact that God sent Himself...OOOPS!...sent His Son to change forms....OOPS!...to die for mankind, and was returned to his physical form...OOPS!...'resurrected' on the third day- is NOT the Good News HE taught, NOR the Good News he SAID would be taught in the Last Days!

Now you ALL know what I'm getting at!

Let's get to the nitty-gritty: WHAT is God's Kingdom...in YOUR minds?
Howdy Mad.

Re: "Most of of those replies are typical of church-goers."

Please define "church-goers".

Are you generalizing? Might the "typical church-goer" be offended by your, (what seems to read as a), condescending remark?

Re: "Now you ALL know what I'm getting at!"

Might this statement be presumptuous?

:coffeeread:
I doubt it, Gogh; those THAT easily offended are whenever faced with non-church dogma!

I didn't say any of those things and I took the time to post what I thought was a considerate and scriptural reply, MJW. I also asked you a couple of questions - so I'd like to ask you to respond to those before they're buried? And please, no generalizations - I'm not a member of any church or following so I don't know why we can't carry on a decent conversation about this topic, without the dark sarcasm? Would be nice...

There's a lot written about God's Kingdom. Jesus used so many allegories when speaking about it and he didn't just talk about in one pretext, but many.

No one can read your mind - why don't you just say what you mean in the first place?

Quote:

This is what's on my mind about Jesus' words at Mat. 24:13-14 - "But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved. This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come."

The one who endures tribulation by faith in Christ Jesus is saved.

The tribulation part is not the good news - the being saved by faith in Christ, the true Messiah, is The Good News. Everything that is 'The Good News of the Kingdom' hinges on Jesus of Nazareth being the awaited Messiah who set his Father's Kingdom plans in motion. It's the Good News that's properly preached which makes it Good, not just the 'preaching' part. I have faith that the essential Good News was preached about Christ Jesus in the first century and has been handed down generation to generation ever since. I do not have confidence in any particular religion which thinks only it has the real Good News message, because they always add special twists that make them and it exclusively unique. But the Good News is not exclusive - it's free for all who want it. And it's available only from God's Anointed One, His Son - not from men or any one religious sect.

:peace:

Thanks, Mad.....for reminding me why I don't go to the JW church anymore.

And by extension, thanks for reminding me why I steer well clear of ANY and ALL organised religion.

I am so very thankful to Jehovah for His sending you here, so that I could be reminded of these things.

Thank you, Mad, for being a willing vessel in our Fathers Purpose! :D
If we look at what we consider the 'gospel' accounts in the Bible, what are they?

They are the books that tell us about Christ, that testify to him and what he did. So if we were to share the gospel with others, as the first century christians did, what should it be?

Their tesimony to the Kingdom of God was expeling demons, healing the sick and unbinding the chains of sin by proclaiming that Jesus wanted EVERYONE to come to him.

For me it would be a testimony to Jesus, his words echo'd of "come to me" all who are loaded down and they will find refreshment and freedom from the weight of sin, infact life itself. They will find the love of God, and can believe in that love. They can approach the throne of God himself because Jesus is now our path to him. We can know everything about them, because they can dwell within us.

We can know love without fear, and can give that love to everyone around us. I can't think of a better gospel that I would want to share.

But then, most religions make a parade out of what should be a very personal experience between you and God. :clown: And then they want to take all the credit. God's gift to you comes through no one else but Christ Jesus!

This is so true Willa on so many levels.
I can talk or preach about the Father and his Son, yet no one but themselves can make a personal relationship with them.

For instance Richard Dawkins might never make this personal relationship unless he humbles himself, so will continue to believe there is no God, because he has not experienced him.

We can deliver the wonderful message, but the individual concerned has to approach God and become his friend like Abraham.

Most of those that came into your faith, were from the church.

Why do you speak so rudely to people. Its one thing to quote and site scripture to prove your point, but you trample on people.

Christ did not teach that way. And people are not all like the Pharisees that Christ rebuked. A lot are still searching, you could stumble them into looking into your faith, and achieve nothing but winning an argument or two.

Soooooooo- those condeming us, please Enlighten us- what IS the 'Gospel'?

Well, it looks like I returned for nothing as you can't respond (must be driving you crazy as you can't post your "wisdom" here...)

But for those that you tried to mislead with false teaching, I will show you in scripture what it is as Paul shows...

1 Co 15

1 Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance[a]: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas,[b] and then to the Twelve. 6 After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8 and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.

That is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

In fact Paul states that anyone who tries to mislead others with anything else IS FALSE as he points out...

Gal 1

6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! 9 As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!

This shows two things...

First if it was not part of the Gospel that Paul and the Apostles preached it IT IS NOT PART OF IT NOW! That would mean 1914 is not and never was part of the Gospel or ever will be.

Second of all, anyone preaching anything other than the Gospel of Christ is under God's curse. Thus the Watchtower leaders who do not repent are under God's curse of distraction.

So MadJW assuming you are not an atheist, the religion you are promoting is under Paul's own words fit for God's destruction and I would seriously consider if I were you as well as others to leave before you earn the same destruction that they are facing for selling false prophecy for profit.

Wow, this is going to be so much fun.

All of those "oops you are tailking about are actually not oops at all but it is your VIEW that is the oops. Here let me educate you a bit.

The fact that God sent Himself...OOOPS!
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Yours is the oops not the teaching of the churches.

...sent His Son to change forms....OOPS!
Phil 5:5
5-8Think of yourselves the way Christ Jesus thought of himself. He had equal status with God but didn't think so much of himself that he had to cling to the advantages of that status no matter what. Not at all. When the time came, he set aside the privileges of deity and took on the status of a slave, became human! Having become human, he stayed human. It was an incredibly humbling process. He didn't claim special privileges. Instead, he lived a selfless, obedient life and then died a selfless, obedient death—and the worst kind of death at that—a crucifixion.

Yours is the oops not the teaching of the churches..

...to die for mankind, and was returned to his physical form...OOPS!

John 2
19Jesus answered and said to them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

20The Jews therefore said, Forty and six years was this temple building, and thou wilt raise it up in three days?

21But *he* spoke of the temple of his body.

So here not only did Jesus have a physical resurrection (as it says that he rose the temple) but also that HE rose that body from the dead and scriptures make it very plain that it was God who did so proving that he is God.

Yours is the oops not the teaching of the churches..

...'resurrected' on the third day- is NOT the Good News HE taught, NOR the Good News he SAID would be taught in the Last Days!

1But I make known to you, brethren, the glad tidings which I announced to you, which also ye received, in which also ye stand,

2by which also ye are saved, (if ye hold fast the word which I announced to you as the glad tidings,) unless indeed ye have believed in vain.

3For I delivered to you, in the first place, what also I had received, that Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures;

4and that he was buried; and that he was raised the third day, according to the scriptures;

5and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve.

6Then he appeared to above five hundred brethren at once, of whom the most remain until now, but some also have fallen asleep.

7Then he appeared to James; then to all the apostles;

8and last of all, as to an abortion, he appeared to *me* also.

Indeed, MadJW show me ANYWHERE in context in scripture where the Gospel is that "Jesus returned invisibly in 1914 and decided to appoint his faithful and discreet slave in order to preach the Gospel that he returned that year but publishing a magazine that has had such wonderful "delightful and correct words of truth" as in 1925 Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and all of the other worthies were going to be resurrected from the dead.

I mean I have shown you by Paul's own words that the Gospel of Jesus Christ was that he died was buried and was raised. Where is this scriptural evidence that it is anything BUT this? Indeed, I see no evidence whatsoever that the Kingdom of God has anything to do with this planet as Jesus himself said...

36Jesus answered, My kingdom (kingship, royal power) belongs not to this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My followers would have been fighting to keep Me from being handed over to the Jews. But as it is, My kingdom is not from here (this world); [it has no such origin or source].
