This admonition to pay attention to "how" you listen is very important. One of the means used by the mind manipulators is "boring the brain". This is done by a variety of means. Lack of oxygen, repetitive words, etc. put the critical function of the brain to sleep.

Thus the warning to pay attention to how you listen also ties in with Jesus' many warnings to "stay awake".

“... pay attention to yourselves that YOUR hearts never become weighed down with overeating and heavy drinking and anxieties of life, and suddenly that day be instantly upon YOU as a snare. For it will come in upon all those dwelling upon the face of all the earth. Keep awake, then, all the time making supplication that YOU may succeed in escaping all these things that are destined to occur, and in standing before the Son of man.” -- Luke 21:34-36

Reviewing what you've heard or learned is vital. Thus Paul enjoins us to,

"Make sure of all things; hold fast to what is fine." -- 1 Thessalonians 5:21

This means that we also have to test the spirits as the apostle John warned:

"Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world." -- 1 John 4:1

Not only the one claiming to speak by the spirit should test, but also those who listen to the teachings of others.

If we have done that as a means of leaving "god's spirit-directed organization" we should not now think that our job is over. As Thomas Jefferson said:

"The price of freedom is eternal vigilance"

Much more can be said of the counsel to "pray incessantly", "keep your eye simple", "don't be anxious", etc. that will keep us safe.

I found it noteworthy that the guy on the cell phone was still affected, even though he had not consciously heard the words of Darren Brown. So I would also say: be careful of your surroundings and where you hang out. Our minds can be prepped in many small ways now. What about when we're under an all-out attack?!

I could not access the clip that was put up, but wondered if it were Derren Brown. Channel 4 has blocked it.
He is not in himself a bad guy, in fact he is highlighting how easily a practitioner can manipulate many minds.
He uses distraction and diversion, but is expert in NLP. He has exposed many who claim to be in touch with the dead; the charlatan spirit mediums.

I suggest everyone appraise themselves of NLP.

Why do kingdom halls have no windows and poor ventilation?
Why are the meetings incredibly boring and mind numbingly long?
Why do we hear the same old stuff and then we read an article and then have to listen to people answering repeats of the repeated?
Why are we not allowed to associate outside the mind controlled circle?
