:heartbeat::heartbeat: Luke 6:9 :heartbeat::heartbeat:
And Jesus said to them, "I ask you, is it lawful to do good or to do harm on the Sabbath, to save a life or to destroy it?"
:heartbeat: Matthew 12:11-12
And He said to them, "What man is there among you who has a sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will he not take hold of it and lift it out? How much more valuable then is a man than a sheep! So then, it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath."
Jesus' words are so full of meaning! While he was seen by the Pharisees as a rebel, his followers - the listeners - could actually 'hear' that his words encompassed a much broader picture. He certainly had/has a wonderful way of teaching for those with 'ears to hear', straight from the word of the very God we all desire to please ---
:heartbeat: Deuteronomy 23:25
When you enter your neighbor's standing grain, then you may pluck the heads with your hand, but you shall not wield a sickle in your neighbor's standing grain. [NASB]
Something which had been provided by our loving God, the Pharisees insisted on placing under the stringent doctrinal Law - and Jesus did indeed rebel against that - God cares and provides for His sheep!
Luke 12
Beware of the Leaven of the Pharisees
1 In the meantime, when so many thousands of the people had gathered together that they were trampling one another, he began to say to his disciples first, "Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. 2 Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. 3 Therefore whatever you have said in the dark shall be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in private rooms shall be proclaimed on the housetops.
Have No Fear
4 "I tell you, my friends, do not fear those who kill the body, and after that have nothing more that they can do. 5 But I will warn you whom to fear: fear him who, after he has killed, has authority to cast into hell (Gr. Gehenna). Yes, I tell you, fear him! 6 Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God. 7 Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows." [ESV]
:heartbeat: Deuteronomy 11:-15
It shall come about, if you listen obediently to my commandments which I am commanding you today, to love the LORD your God and to serve Him with all your heart and all your soul, that He will give the rain for your land in its season, the early and late rain, that you may gather in your grain and your new wine and your oil. He will give grass in your fields for your cattle, and you will eat and be satisfied.
:heartbeat: Ezekiel 34:10
'Thus says the Lord GOD, "Behold, I am against the shepherds, and I will demand My sheep from them and make them cease from feeding sheep. So the shepherds will not feed themselves anymore, but I will deliver My flock from their mouth, so that they will not be food for them."'
:heartbeat: Mark 6:34
When Jesus went ashore, He saw a large crowd, and He felt compassion for them because they were like sheep without a shepherd; and He began to teach them many things.
Our Lord is still teaching us, in that wonderful way he has, "many things" about our awesome Father's word!
