Hello everyone!

I said I'd let ya'll in on things once my research was finished...so here it is:

"The Truth About The Truth", by Tami Dickerson
http://www.amazon.com/Truth-About-Tami-D...809&sr=1-1

It'll take another week before Amazon gets the details on the site, so I'll fill you in right now:

Author Tami Dickerson, a second generation Jehovah's Witness, shares her story of being raised as a Jehovah's Witness and her accidental discovery of the religion's dishonesty and corruption in her first book, "The Truth About the Truth". The book details her experience of being raised into the sect and the discovery of a major organizational cover-up that was hidden away from the worldwide membership. After telling her story, she also includes a series of appendices which cover questionable Jehovah's Witness doctrines and how their own literature contradicts those doctrines. This is not the usual "I-used-to-be-a-Jehovah's-Witness-and-now-I'm-mad" story; this is an objective piece that strips the sugar-coating off the sect and tells it like it is, warts and all.

And I have to give my dear hubby a lot of credit -- he very patiently helped me learn how to format and upload the files correctly for Amazon (he's a saint!).

(And thank you Willa, for keeping my secret ;) )
Awsome!! Can't wait to read it!
Tami,

Great job!

I would like to read it.

I have bookmarked your link because if there really are no partialities on this forum it won't last long!

Oh Dear! :bangin:

Seems like I'm rather "green" at this whole publishing thing, LOL!

When I uploaded my last round of editing "tweaks" to the publisher, apparently I uploaded the "untweaked" file, because I found a couple of typos that shouldn't be in there.

Today I'll have hubby dear help me with it, to make sure I do it right this time. :post:

It could take about two weeks for the corrections to go through. Good thing I didn't send out my press releases yet!
well tami--you go girl :heartbeat: :cheer:

I willl be reading when it is available and genuinely look forward to it :heartbeat: :read:
Congrats Sister Tami.

Interesting statements.

Yep, thats interesting.

Seems like Tami has 7 other siblings who are actively following men while Tami herself has chosen to follow Jesus Christ.

Good choice!

Yeah, we were a large family, and it made for a large number of memories. :)
Not only did we always have someone to do something with, but we also always had someone to fight with, LOL! :grouphug:

My one brother "Quentin" (as he is identified in the book), went through a time period in 1982 where he took a tape recorder and simply went around the house recording the family's daily activities. He kept the tapes and transferred them to CD ROM in 2002 and sent me a copy that was dated December 24th 1982. It was so cool! I never realized I grew up with so much noise around me, LOL! Picture this: Quentin was simply going from room to room, narrating things as they unfolded: "Joe" was playing a musical intrument, Dad was watching television, Mom was listening to the radio in the kitchen while talking on the phone, "Amelia" and I were arguing, and "Forrest", the youngest, was trying to be a ham on tape -- all at the same time! And as he went from room to room you could hear the other stuff going on in the other rooms -- it was almost chaotic, LOL! :phone: :dueling: :listenmusic: :chacha: :piano:

When my hubby listened to it, he had to laugh: He always wondered how I could have the tv, radio, and phone in my ear while interacting with our kids while at the same time preparing supper; now he knew, LOL!

Oh Tami, thats so funny!!

Sounds just like our house! (I've got 8)

This one is definatly me......

How did they ever get you all to the meetings and then thru them!

The meetings are NOT family friendly! Just thinking back on what we used to have to go thru 3 times a week is enought to give me an anxiety attack! :insane:

We learned to get ready ON TIME OR ELSE! On Saturday nights we'd get all our clothes and literature ready for the Sunday morning meeting. For the Tuesday and Thursday meetings, we'd come right home after school, get our homework done, eat dinner, and start getting ready for the meeting. At the meetings, mom would have a wooden spoon tucked away in her bookbag. If any of us misbehaved, she'd take us out back with the wooden spoon. So we learned to behave quite quickly.

Dad and mom always had to do a head count after the meetings as well; one time, when I was about five or six, I was accidentally left behind at a bookstudy group! I was so busy playing with a few other kids in the group that I didn't even know they left until they came back looking for me, LOL!
