Paradise Cafe Discussions - A Place For Bible Research And Christian Encouragement

Full Version: ANYONE UP TO ANALYZING THE PARABLE OF THE SHEEP & GOATS?

This was a question posed on another Forum. I would very much like a response to this question from researchers from Paradise Cafe.

WT finally gave up the notion that this parable referred to giving "aid" to them, primarily by preaching and teaching their doctrines. WT has also admitted that this has a future fulfillment.
I couldn't agree more.
So, when He says "nations" are going to be gathered before Him, is Jesus speaking of all nations or Christian nations only?
I lean toward Christian nations because the "goats" also call Him their Master.
I also note that the "nations'' seem to have already been judged when the King arrives, because He immediately places them at His right or His left.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Sage,

The separation occurs depending on how Jesus Christs brothers are treated.

This suggests that Jesus Christs brothers are mingled with the ones being separated.

Could someone be judged if they had never had an opportunity to come into contact with one of those Jesus Christ considered his brother?

There are scriptures suggesting that even Jesus Christs brothers themselves would have friction between each other during the end times.

Isaiah 66:5
Hear the word of Jehovah, YOU men who are trembling at his word: “YOUR brothers that are hating YOU, that are excluding YOU by reason of my name, said, ‘May Jehovah be glorified!’ He must also appear with rejoicing on YOUR part, and they are the ones that will be put to shame.”

These brothers would be excluded by reason of God's name, Jehovah.

If you think we are now living during those end times then I am only able to find one world wide religion who exclude (disfellowship) their brothers through the use of God's actual name, Jehovah.

This announcement is made from Kingdom Hall platforms all around the world:

[Name of person] is no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

So I am convinced that the Jehovah's Witnesses are intimately connected to the separation.

Once the sheep and goats are separated I would expect a restoration to occur soon after.

Now carefully consider what the Apostle Paul says:

Romans 9:24
namely, us, whom he called not only from among Jews but also from among nations, [what of it]? 25 It is as he says also in Ho·se´a: “Those not my people I will call ‘my people,’ and her who was not beloved ‘beloved’; 26 and in the place where it was said to them, ‘YOU are not my people,’ there they will be called ‘sons of the living God.’

Yes, I'm up for it.. good subject.. I can't write long.. but here's some ideas..

I think the separating takes place when Jesus is made King during his presence and before the final revealing.. Also it doesn't appear to me, that the separation thing is an immediate thing but a project that is drawn out over a while.. I'd say 3 1/2 years or so from other scriptures..

To me the brothers of Christ are the born-again or anointed ones and the ones helping the brothers.. are the great crowd, the ones who haven't made it yet to be a heavenly one.. The nations may be being separated and will be judged @ the great white throne..

Actually this could be the great white throne judgement and the actual discussion from Christ to the sheep would take place then, as Christ is also revealed to the world.. ideas? I'll check in again tomorrow..

My conclusions!
During the judgment period (the millennium reign of Christ) possibly 20 million people who have lived and died will be restored to life.
"28 Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment." Jo.5:28,29.
"I have hope toward God, which hope these [men] themselves also entertain, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous." Ac.24:15.

They will then be invited to the house of Jehovah to be instructed about his ways, so as to demonstrate their loyality and willingness to walk in His paths.
"And many peoples will certainly go and say: “Come, YOU people, and let us go up to the mountain of Jehovah, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will instruct us about his ways, and we will walk in his paths.” For out of Zion law will go forth, and the word of Jehovah out of Jerusalem. 4 And he will certainly render judgment among the nations and set matters straight respecting many peoples. And they will have to beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, neither will they learn war anymore." Is.2:3,4.

They will have opportunity and time to do so, during the great judgment period of Armageddon.
"Crowds, crowds are in THE LOW PLAIN OF DECISION, for the day of Jehovah is near in the low plain of the decision." Joe.3:14.
“No more will there come to be a suckling a few days old from that place, neither an old man that does not fulfill his days; for one will die as a mere boy, although a hundred years of age; and, AS FOR THE SINNER, ALTHOUGH A HUNDRED YEARS OF AGE HE WILL HAVE EVIL CALLED DOWN ON UPON HIM." Is.65:20.

This will be possible since they will be physically and mentally perfect as was Adam & Eve before they sinned. The ransom has restored them from the inherited imperfection of Adam. They can now be tested as to their loyality as was Adam & Eve.
