Imagine that, Brian – you and I seeing something the same way! :drinking:

We can call God Daddy, huh? I bet we shouldn’t call him Big Daddy?

(I’m sure you remember that guy!).

I do remember just about. Back when David Icke was a mediocre sports presenter. Them were the days!

Gosh yes. I remember David Icke covering bowls, which is a lovely game to watch, I think. It really relaxes me. I was sorry they changed the pitch from green to blue. Anyway, the next thing I knew David's name is mud and he is being ripped apart by Terry Wogan on his chat show.

I don't care what anyone says - I thought David Icke was a really nice man. I bet he is a much tougher man nowadays.

Rom 8

1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus

John 5

24 "I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned

22 Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son, 23 that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him.

1 Thess 1

10 and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come

Judgment Smudgement

Abe, it is no surprise that you descend into semantics to obsess about judgement and punishment.

Here’s how I see it:

I haven’t the power or the inclination to judge on a spiritual level
I haven’t a synagogue to throw anyone out of (I have a forum but everyone has admin status).

So I don’t judge in the sense of adding a punishment to those who disagree with me.

As for how I view your opinion, this is where semantics is coming in. I have my opinion. Everyone else has theirs.

I would back this up with scripture but it is really baby stuff.

brendan,

Just want to make certain you understand that judgment is not always about punishment and will back it up with scripture:

Matthew 12:36
I tell YOU that every unprofitable saying that men speak, they will render an account concerning it on Judgment Day; 37 for by your words you will be declared righteous, and by your words you will be condemned.”

It is the formula for peace:

Isaiah 9:7
To the abundance of the princely rule and to peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and upon his kingdom in order to establish it firmly and to sustain it by means of justice and by means of righteousness, from now on and to time indefinite. The very zeal of Jehovah of armies will do this.

Isaiah 26:9
With my soul I have desired you in the night; yes, with my spirit within me I keep looking for you; because, when there are judgments from you for the earth, righteousness is what the inhabitants of the productive land will certainly learn.

Judgment is a good thing if it is done righteously.

I look forward to the time when it occurs.

Strange, I got the opposite impression.

Thank God, he and his Son can read hearts, and they are not relying on proof texts. :) ;)

Dear Abe, I think, once we come to love Jesus, God is far more merciful than humans are to each other, or we all would have been dust, years ago.

Derek,

I hope so.

I'm feeling condemned and judged myself, simply for pointing out some scriptural truths.

I really am happy that its not men we should be afraid of.

Hi Carol,
I have the same problem in Tesco! :)

Surely not, Abe, that would be very sad.

Do not confuse the possibility that we can be wrong with being judged!

It is no big deal being wrong, I have been wrong many times.

May you have Christ's peace, brother.

Better stay well away from strobe lighting!!! :giverose:

Just over stating my thoughts:D:D:D

As long as I don't dress the same way as I post:):):)

Also Romans 8:1 is my favourite verse!!!

We recently had business cards made up at church and the Elder who designed mine knew what verse to put on Rom 8:1

The fact that all the Judgment for MY sins fell upon Christ is a song I tend to sing VERY LOUD!!!

Free to live for Righteousness with MY sins removed as far as the East is from the West:whistle::whistle::whistle:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrYVTpsAGYk

Before the throne of God above
I have a strong, a perfect plea:
A great High Priest, whose name is Love,
Who ever lives and pleads for me.

My name is graven on his hands,
My name is written on his heart;
I know that while in heaven he stands
No tongue can bid me thence depart
No tongue can bid me thence depart.

When Satan tempts me to despair,
And tells me of the guilt within,
Upward I look, and see him there
Who made an end of all my sin.

Because a sinless Savior died,
My sinful soul is counted free;
For God, the Just, is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me
To look on Him and pardon me

Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Praise the One,
Risen Son of God!

Behold him there, the risen Lamb
My perfect, spotless righteousness,
The great unchangeable I am,
The King of glory and of grace!

One in himself, I cannot die
My soul is purchased by his blood
My life is hid with Christ on high,
With Christ, my Savior and my God
With Christ, my Savior and my God

Verse 1
I hear the Savior say,
"Thy strength indeed is small.
Child of weakness, watch and pray,
Find in Me thine all in all."

Chorus
’Cause Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe.
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow.

Verse 2
Lord, now indeed I find
Thy pow'r and Thine alone,
Can change the leper’s spots,
And melt the heart of stone.

Verse 3
And when before the throne
I stand in Him complete,
Jesus died my soul to save
my lips shall still repeat.

Bridge
Oh, praise the One who paid my debt,
And raised this life up from the dead.
