I know the feeling! I experienced the tremors from the Abruzzo earthquake last year. I live in Rome, a two hour drive from Abruzzo. Great damage was done there and many deaths.I woke up with my bed moving! Hope all is well. Haven't heard any news about it.
Christian love
Grateful :giverose:
there are reports that ripples have been felt in southern maine and into massachusettes. some buildings have been evacuated but so far no real damages have been reported...
I live in New York State, and the tremor supposedly went through my area at about 1:45 in the the afternoon yesterday -- but I didn't feel a thing!:shocked:
Hubby and son were inside the house, and I was outside talking with our next door neighbor....I didn't know anything even happened until this morning when I heard it on the news, LOL! Apparently it was a 5.0 on the Richter scale.
The last time I felt an earthquake through my region was in 1983/84, it shook my bed and woke me up.

Go figure.
Melancholymuse,
My daughter was writing her last exam of the school year when the earthquake occurred.
The teachers were not in the classroom when the earthquake occurred.
When the teachers did return minutes later to the classroom they were surprised to find all the students excitedly talking about the tremors they felt.
Thing is, the teachers did not feel the earthquake and so reprimanded the kids for talking to each other in the classroom during an examination.
The kids assured them that they felt an earthquake but the teachers did not believe them.
A minute later the principal of the school made an announcement on the PA that they were not planning to evacuate the school due to the earthquake tremors and that students should continue with their examinations.
A big "I told you so" moment for the students which embarrassed the two teachers.
My daughter told me they think that because the teachers were walking in the corridor and not sitting down, they did not feel the tremors.
People in the same place absolutely convinced it was an earthquake and others not.

Strange but true.
Y'know, you might have something here.
Yesterday's quake I didn't feel, and I was standing and walking and stuff. The quake I felt in the 1980's, I did feel, probably because I was wasn't in motion, I was lying in my bed. Both quakes were similar in magnitude.
Hubby and son probably didn't notice yesterday's quake, even though they were sitting, because they were heavily involved in their computer games and wouldn't notice a bomb going off, LOL!
