For years, some of us have wondered about the composition and purpose of chemtrails. Those of us who can remember the days of really blue skies mourn their loss to the hazy blue of today's skies.
One of the most disturbing things I ever saw was the introduction of chemtrails in the animated movie "Over the Hedge". The message being conveyed to children was "chemtrails are a natural and expected part of our environment".
It is so difficult to wade through all the conspiracy stuff and the disinformation crap without coming out totally confused. Some people just throw up their hands in fear or exasperation, justifiably, and refuse to even think about it. I can hardly blame them. I mean -- who do you believe?
This video trailer of an up-and-coming film (October 2010 if all goes according to plan) presents a view -- well-- I'll let you be the judge as to its veracity. Here is a quote from the YouTube page:

I personally do NOT think it is a 'conspiracy' ... having myself experienced the difference in clouds, weather, and temperature especially when there are massive chemtrails being laid ...:(:rant:
I HATE it when I see a lovely blue sky :birds:only to be completely covered over in a matter of hours once the planes go over spewing forth their toxins :angry: literally upon our heads :shocked: and into the very air we breathe :( and food we eat:eat: and water we drink :drinking:...
Everytime this happens I think that of the scripture in Revelation:read: where it says something that can give us hope that all the damage that is being done WILL BE UNDONE!:cheer::cheer:

If you will take note of the weather when chemtrails are especially frequent and vast within a couple of days the temperature drops:cold: and it rains :rain: ...
I persoanally don't think it is a 'coincidence' nor 'in my head' or that I am 'delusional' in seeing an ONGOING PATTERN that has been ocurring for quite a few years now ...
It is just another way 'man is dominating man to his injury' ... and how sad is that ... they have found a way to do it 'silently' and to millions of unsuspecting people and causing untold damage in as yet unknown ways due to the accumulation of toxins that rain down from above ... :(:badmood:

Actually it is water that you are seeing in those trails behind the jets.
The actual exhaust from the jet fuel is invisible.
Same as when you start a car on a warm summer day and you cannot see the exhaust from the tail pipe.
Start the same car when it is minus 20c and you will see the water coming out of the exhaust pipe.
The water condenses because of the temperature and the pressure. That is why you can often see trails coming off the wings because they produce an enormous amount of pressure which, then suddenly get released.
You can find this explained in almost every high school science text book.
Abe, dearie, you are confusing "contrails" with "chemtrails". We've seen the two happening side by side. It has nothing to do with condensation.
My son and I once watched two jets producing chemtrails going in opposite directions on a near collision course, each one was closely followed by a single jet producing no trails at all. It was as if the following jets were monitoring the output of the lead jets. It was a striking example of what this video is talking about.
Personally I've been found to have more than a half dozen barium compounds in my body but have never in my life ingested anything of the kind. It is used as a contrast medium (barium swallow) for x-rays. Here is a rather dry analysis regarding the toxicity of barium compounds.
Perhaps you don't have chemtrails in your area. If you don't then you live in a rare area of Canada. Of course, if you're living outside a city you may not have as many. It doesn't take a great detective to see which areas are being targeted. And while it's mainly the towns and cities, now agricultural and farming areas are also getting heavy doses.
One of the big observable differences between con and chem is that contrails do not persist. Chemtrails can be laid down, drift to form a complete cover over the sky and persist for hours.
I'm only glad that we have a hope for the future. This world is getting to be very strange.
It depends on the height of the aircraft and the atmospheric conditions as to whether the contrails persist or not.
As a young child in the 1960's I asked my father the same question as to why some jets had a lot of "smoke" and some did not and he explained the condensation to me.
Whether you see the contrails persisting depends on the atmospheric conditions at the height the aircraft is flying. Same as some days we see low clouds persisting and other days we only see high clouds persisting.
Depending on conditions on some days you can see a normal cloud growing in size and other times you can see a normal cloud shrinking and sometimes disappearing.
The very same things you see in the skies today were seen during the advent of the jet engine.
My father worked his entire life on aircraft from WW2 Spitfires to Hawker Harrier Jump Jets. What you see in the sky today is the same thing being seen when jets were first invented and used.

I agree with you.
I live under the main air route to NA and at times we have many con-trails over the house. I have looked at the chem-trails on the net and they are indistinguishable from the con-trails over my air space.
However, persistent and numerous con-trails could effect earth's albedo.
The more one tries to debunk a conspiracy theory the more the adherents dig their heels in.
The truth of how we are screwing up the planet is bad enough. There will be enough heavy metal pollution from man in the environment and hence water supplies, for people in some areas to have barium in their bodies.

I know is unusual but I agree with you Abe. Contrails are perceived by some as chem-trails but they are both contrails. Its a bit like what happens in a cloud chamber as Abe says. Plus the design of jets has changed over the years to ones that make use of much more air which gets heated up and then condenses. Its allot of water and of course the ordinary exhaust that comes from combustion processes and burnt fuel.
Global dimming is greatly affected and increased by com trails, hence some conspiracy theorists have latched on to the idea that the scientists are using the so called chem-trails to hold back the affects of global warming which of course com trails do do to some extent. However scientists are certainly not proposing to, or actually using com trails known by some as chem-trails in order to counter global warming as such is long term suicide. The very people who think scientists are responsible for what they think are chem-trails of course tend not to believe in global warming as that they think it is also a conspiracy theory, so the idea that scientists are doing it to cool the earth, presumably via global dimming, are of course really saying its not that but some other reason far more sinister that of course involves a conspiracy. So such people in my view call real science a conspiracy while really promoting their own which in all likelihood is also false.
When the trade center collapsed and air craft were grounded scientists took advantage of the unfortunate situation in order to conduct studies to see to what extent the com trails contributed to global dimming and average temperatures on the ground for the affected areas. The average temperature range was about a degree hotter as a result of no aircraft because global dimming affects the amount of sunlight that reaches the surface by blocking or reflecting heat from the sun back into space. Such research showed that global warming therefore had more of an affect that previously thought.

We have observed, often (as we reside in a very active spraying program area)...intermittent flow of material,that in time, sections of sprayed material grow to become what look very similar to types of clouds. We have observed at least fifteen parallel swaths of material that linger, spread and result in (what would have been a perfectly clear day)... a hazy "cloud" cover day.
We did notice, however, a cease in spraying during the 2010 Winter Olympics.....that was nice of "them". Research enables one to differentiate between a contrail and what has become known as a chemtrail.
Here is a video showing what we have similarly observed:

Personally I think they are probably the result of several factors like they say and different engine modes, because if they were spraying it is a very inefficient way to do it in stops and starts.
