Third Temple Plans for Rebuilding in Jerusalem.

They could start building tomorrow. There are 12 groups that are in preparation. They've chosen the location, a computer registry of 300,000 of the sons of Aaron (the Levites), many robes are prepared, over 150 sacred vessels have already been restored, including some of the most difficult and complicated projects, such as the Menorah and the precious stones of the High Priest's breastplate. The architects are selected to rebuild with plans according to the bible. All but the ark of the covenant, which they believe is there. Also needed is a pure red heifer.

They've been saying this since my Dad was a boy. The big problem is that the actual site has the Dome of the Rock planted firmly on it and has had since about the 7th century. There's a mosque there too. There has been talk of chosing another location for years, but really, there is only one site that the Jewish people would collectively agree to accept as the third temple and not some new, unrelated temple.

As far as I can see, these sacred muslim sites would have to be torn down to rebuild the temple and if Jews dared to pull down Muslim holy places all hell would literally break loose.

If it happens, it'll be all out war.

... which, by a strange quirk, is described in Ezekiel 38 and 39, just before the detailed description of the Temple from Ezekiel 40 onwards.

Just a coincidence... :D:D:D

Wouldn't this be the 4th temple? :detective:

Yep, Jesus Christ raised up the temple in Jerusalem 3 days after his crucifixion.

The Apostle Paul described what would happen to this raised up temple immediately before Jesus Christ returns to gather together his chosen ones:

2nd Thessalonians 2
Let no one seduce YOU in any manner, because it will not come unless the apostasy comes first and the man of lawlessness gets revealed, the son of destruction. 4 He is set in opposition and lifts himself up over everyone who is called “god” or an object of reverence, so that he sits down in the temple of The God, publicly showing himself to be a god. 5 Do YOU not remember that, while I was yet with YOU, I used to tell YOU these things?

In order to resolve what the Apostle Paul said a Christian would need to understand how this raised up temple is profaned by a man of lawlessness, the sons of destruction.

I find the notion of this professed temple puzzling. If built, it would have tremendous religious significance and greatly empower the spirit of the Israeli nation - and also be a self-justification for prominence. And yet, the whole process is being held up by the search for a sacred cow? They have the robes and the crown and have finally found the red worms - and I'm sure they're very nice worms - but where is the holiness? Of all races on earth, they should know that without God's decree it would be merely another building.

Not to be particular on this - plenty of religions build temples which are, in effect, graven images empowered to make their faith "holy". And that - rather than God's - seems to be the spirit in religion: a powerful enough wave of public opinion "authenticates" their own holiness. Funny, but it seems to be the same spirit as Adam who became convinced that he didn't need God's oversight.

Acts5v29

Acts5v29,

I agree,

What is more important?

The house itself, or the people inside the house.

The physical building is worthless if it is built to contain a bunch of hypocrites.

That is why true Christianity is so attractive.

The temple is not the physical building, its the people!

Ephesians 2
19 Certainly, therefore, YOU are no longer strangers and alien residents, but YOU are fellow citizens of the holy ones and are members of the household of God, 20 and YOU have been built up upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, while Christ Jesus himself is the foundation cornerstone. 21 In union with him the whole building, being harmoniously joined together, is growing into a holy temple for Jehovah. 22 In union with him YOU, too, are being built up together into a place for God to inhabit by spirit.

So if you want to see how the temple is profaned as explained by the Apostle Paul in 2nd Thessalonians you have to examine the people (sons of destruction) and not a physical building.

In order to see this a person really would need to use discernment.

Matthew 24
Therefore, when YOU catch sight of the disgusting thing that causes desolation, as spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in a holy place, (let the reader use discernment,)

Hey mum -

the tola’at shani. Crimson worm.

Used in ancient judaism for a red dye necessary for various temple bits and bobs as outlined in the Torah. Largely for colouring some of the temple garments.

Some folks have been trying to harvest them for a long time. Elusive little critters.:cheekkiss: but they've recently been harvested for the first time on Israeli soil.

Ahhh....the coccus ilicis! Thanks my sweet.

I had searched Acts' post for worms -- couldn't find hide nor hair of them.....just a red heifer. I thought for a bit that I might be looking for a red herring. :D

The coccus ilicis is one of Vicky's favorite topics. Here's why:

Look at the 22nd Psalm. This is the great Psalm of the crucifixion of Christ written 1,000 years before it was fulfilled. It describes in great detail the sufferings of Christ on the cross. "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" he cries out. Then down in verse 6...he says , "But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people." What did he mean by saying "I am a worm"?...This particular worm is different from other kinds of worms. There are different kinds of worms, different varieties, but this is a particular worm. It means more than just he is not a man. Isaiah 52 says, "his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men." He was literally made corruption personified; he didn't even look like a man there on the cross*; it is talking about more than that here. He says "I am a worm and no man." This is a scarlet worm and the reason it was called that was because it had the ability to secrete a scarlet fluid which was used in making the scarlet dye that they used in ancient days. As a matter of fact, when you find the word "scarlet" in the bible, it's the same word. "Though your sins be as scarlet," it's the same word exactly. The worm was identified with the crimson color. The life cycle of that worm is something like this: when the mother worm was ready to give birth to the baby worms, she would find the trunk of a tree, a post or a stick somewhere and then she would plant her body in that wood and she would implant her body so firmly in it that she could never leave it again. And then the young would be brought forth and the mother's body would provide protection for the babies as long as they needed before they could get out and take care of themselves. Then the mother would die, and in the process, the scarlet fluid would stain her body and the body of the young and the tree and so on. The Lord Jesus said "I am like that scarlet worm." He's making peace through the blood of his cross; he's bringing many sons into glory through the suffering. And this is a graphic testimony of the fact that eternal life comes out of the suffering and death of the Son of God.

Don't you just love the deep prophetic stuff found in the humblest of things?

Sometimes I swear the whole of creation is such a perfect tapestry of the natural and spiritual woven together.

"The invisable things of God are clearly seen through his creation."

Love ya ima. XXX

Indeed. I can only prostrate myself gratefully before a God of such wonderful wisdom and cry out joyfully in the presence of our dear lord Jesus who died so that we may have life in abundance....such a life!

Tapestry is a good word.
