Yes, its in the controversy section.
I just checked out a website and discovered that a man named Clif High who calls himself a "Radical Linguist" and invented the webbot has discovered through his research that a "Word" exists that if spoken by humans has an enormous amount of power. Power over even alien beings who he call the reptilians.
He wants to find out what the "Word" is.
Here is the website:
http://www.halfpasthuman.com/theword.html
Here are some scriptures which come to mind:
John 17:12
While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me.
Matthew 8:8
In reply the army officer said: “Sir, I am not a fit man for you to enter under my roof, but just say the word and my manservant will be healed.
Matthew 8:16
But after it became evening, people brought him many demon-possessed persons; and he expelled the spirits with a word
James 2:19
You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that-and shudder.
Deuteronomy 28:10
Then all the peoples on earth will see that you are called by the name of the LORD, and they will fear you.
Psalm 79:6
Pour out your wrath on the nations that do not acknowledge you, on the kingdoms that do not call on your name;
Joel 2:32
And everyone who calls on
the name of the LORD will be saved.
John 17:6
I have manifested Your name to the men whom You gave Me out of the world.
Interesting?

I think maybe Clif High is not his name, Able - maybe 'Clif' really is just high. :smoker:
Do you really believe the political powers of the world are actually "snake-skinned reptilians" hiding behind human-like masks? I don't.
Do you really believe a mere spoken word will save us, and not God, directly by His own power? I don't.
I second Brian's conclusion about that. :horsepoo:
But I do believe this is one Word, one name we have to know and in which we must believe:
Romans 8:8 But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); 9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. 11 For the Scripture says, "Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame." 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. 13 For "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

Willa,
I found it very interesting that a man through his own research (into ancient Sumerian writings and his webbot) discovered that a word exists which has a great amount of power.
What do I believe?
I do believe that the bible shows that God's name is a word which has that kind of power and that it is the name that Jesus Christ taught to his disciples.
I also believe that Jesus Christ is now the mediator between God and men so if we want to benefit from God's power he can be approached through Jesus Christ.
I believe this is best accomplished through prayer.
As to snake skinned reptilians hiding behind human forms I don't know what to believe.
What exactly was the serpent in the Garden of Eden?
There are angelic figures described with bulls/eagles/lions head so perhaps the true quality of alien beings is not thoroughly understood.
Ancient Egyptian paintings do depict large reptilian looking creatures so I don't want to convince myself that reptilian life forms do not exist.
Did Egyptians invent them or are they real?
I don't know.
What I do know are the reasons why I posted this in the controversy section.

Yep lotsa things we don't know.
Did the angels always inhabit human bodies before the flood?
what if they could inhabit any type of body they chose?
are dragons mythyical? were they a description for dino's?
Don't know but as you said Abe, the single "word" part is in fact true.
I beieve the apostles were astonished that they could expel demons with a single word.. or more precisely name
OK two points:
The first point is that Jesus is not known to have taught Gods name to the disciples as though they didn't know it already because they did, or that Gods name has any magical power what so ever. In the Lords prayer Jesus said `hallowed be thy name` with out using the name, but instead called God Father which in Aramaic is Abba, the language Jesus spoke, which is baby talk meaning Dadda. That term is directly transliterated as being the word Jesus used in Mark 14:36. That is what Jesus taught. In other words Jesus made more of the relationship with God then the name of God, which actually isn't really Gods name anyway, but thats another topic.
The second point is a single word often was not enough to expel demons, not even Gods name. Jesus told the disciples that certain types of spirit do not come out except by the process of prayer. In fact the only instance of Jesus failing to do a miracle on the first attempt was exactly when dealing with demons. He didn't use Gods name for guaranteed success as if that would have worked. He was Gods son and his name meant `with us is God`. The account of legion in both Luke and Mark confirm this (see below). So you see the idea of a magic word or even Gods name having special power is not correct because even Jesus taught and demonstrated this.
Luk 8:28 When he saw Jesus, he screamed, fell down in front of him, and said in a loud voice, "What do you want from me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you not to torture me!"
Luk 8:29 For Jesus was in the process of ordering the unclean spirit to come out of the man. On many occasions the unclean spirit had seized the man, and though he was kept under guard and bound with chains and shackles, he would break the chains and be driven by the demon into deserted places.
Luk 8:30 Jesus asked him, "What's your name?" He answered, "Legion," because many demons had gone into him.
Luk 8:31 Then the demons began begging Jesus not to order them to go into the bottomless pit.
Luk 8:32 Now a large herd of pigs was grazing there on the hillside. So the demons begged Jesus to let them go into those pigs, and he let them do this.
Mar 5:6 When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell down in front of him,
Mar 5:7 screaming in a loud voice, "What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I command you in the name of God not to torture me!"
Mar 5:8 For Jesus had been saying to him, "Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!"
Mar 5:9 Then Jesus asked him, "What's your name?" He said to him, "My name is Legion, because there are many of us."
Mar 5:10 He kept pleading with Jesus not to send them out of the territory.
Mar 5:11 Now a large herd of pigs was grazing on a hillside nearby.
Mar 5:12 So the demons begged him, "Send us among the pigs, so that we can go into them!"
Mar 5:13 So he let them do this. The unclean spirits came out of the man and went into the pigs, and the herd of about 2,000 rushed down the cliff into the sea and drowned there.
twist and turn to make things what you will. the scriptures speak for themselves.
Mark9: 39"Do not stop him," Jesus said. "No one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me, 40for whoever is not against us is for us.
cts 2:38
Peter said to them, " Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 3:6
But Peter said, "I do not possess silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you: In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene--walk!"
Acts 3:16
"And on the basis of faith in His name, it is the name of Jesus which has strengthened this man whom you see and know; and the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect health in the presence of you all.
Acts 4:18
And when they had summoned them, they commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus.
Acts 15:26
men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Acts 16:18
She continued doing this for many days. But Paul was greatly annoyed, and turned and said to the spirit, "I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her!" And it came out at that very moment.
1 Corinthians 1:2
To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who have been sanctified in Christ Jesus, saints by calling, with all who in every place call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours:
Philippians 2:10
so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

Do you see why I think it is very interesting that a resourceful man through non biblical study came to the conclusion that a Word exists that is very powerful?

Totaldismay you think I wouldn't love it if merely saying the word Jesus worked all kinds of miracles like a magic incantation or get me out of jail card?
Its not the name Jesus that does anything because Barabbas first name was also Jesus. When someone says in the name of someone they reference the fact they know something about that person or specifically they trust that person or reputation or something true about them. In other words if you don`t trust Jesus or believe he specifically as the Son of God can do what he says he can do, the name is of absolutely no benefit to you. Its not a magic word.
You think I am twisting scripture but I already showed you that even Jesus didn't use any kind of magic word when dealing with demons. I showed you where Jesus actually fails to expel a demon on the first attempt from the scriptures, and I reminded you that Jesus affirmed that the process of prayer is sometimes the only thing that can cast out demons along with faith which is trust as opposed to using a magic word or name of God or Jesus. Faith in the name of Jesus is a different matter, and does work, but in such cases its never the name itself because the name of itself has no power.
Mat 17:19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, "Why couldn't we drive it out?"
Mat 17:20 He told them, "Because of your lack of faith. For truly I tell you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.
Mat 17:21 But this kind does not come out except by prayer."
Again from the scriptures which you say I am twisting we have this:
Act 19:13 Then some Jews who went around trying to drive out demons attempted to use the name of the Lord Jesus on those who had evil spirits, saying, "I command you by that Jesus whom Paul preaches!"
Act 19:14 Seven sons of a Jewish high priest named Sceva were doing this.
Act 19:15 But the evil spirit said to them, "I know Jesus, and I am acquainted with Paul, but who are you?"
Act 19:16 Then the man with the evil spirit jumped on them, got the better of them, and so violently overpowered all of them that they fled out of the house naked and bruised.
Notice that the name Jesus itself has no power! Notice too they use Jesus not Jehovah! Even the demon itself implies its who the name represents, not the name itself that has any power. Again as I said before its about relationship with God, not so much the name because it has no power, and the same goes for Jesus.
If you think the name Jesus or Jehovah has power in the way this nut job is talking about some magic word, then you have departed from the scriptures yourself as apposed to me twisting them. One of the most basic meanings of the name Jehovah is that the Jehovah God was not at the beck and call of humans like other Gods were if one knew their name, to be employed by the name of that God and shamed if that named God didn't perform the miracle or whatever at the will of humans, but the Jehovah God was in charge, not humans over him, and certainly not by employing the name as a magic charm. That why Jehovah means `I am what I am` or `will prove to be` because we are not in charge of him.
I think it is going to be a magik phrase rather than a single powerful word.

If it doesn't turn the reptilians into mush, :alien: at least it will dissolve them into convulsions of mirth.

The scriptures say that no man will need to be taught by another.
I believe them.
He just needs to keep on digging and maybe he will find the word.
the other odd thing is I wonder where he gets the reptilian thing from. I wonder if it has anything to do with the snake in the garden. ?

i think we need a new category at paradise cafe.
the "surely you must be pulling my leg" section.
First off, could care less if the Guy is off abit, he may have things wrong to a degree. but is that what Abe was trying to point out?
A magik word? I never thought that for one second.
I think we should let ABE tell us if he thought it was magik, that he was seeing a conection to how things always point back to a singular point the "word"
If the man mistakenly thinks it to be a magik word based on what is written in history books can you hold him at fault?
Magik has and does exist. Satan has used it to manipulate people for a long time. even the preists turned rods into snakes in the bible. both good and bad ones.
Jesus came and broke the cycle of fear based on the unknown from magik to ghosts and the like. I have used just his name many times to chase unwanted spirits away.
So I can say you believe and twist want you want I will believe what I have lived.
you say
" Its not the name Jesus that does anything because Barabbas first name was also Jesus."
I say if you know the person as the demons did it is the name, because behind it is the power. just like in the "name of the LAW"
you say
"I showed you where Jesus actually fails to expel a demon on the first attempt from the scriptures, "
Actually you didn't show me anything. just because they were many and hesitated to leave for lack of a place to go does show a thing to me.
If they never left at all I would say he failed.
face it you and i will never see things the same.
I think it is going to be a magik phrase rather than a single powerful word.

The power behind words lies in the authority of the one using them.
When I was into the occult we did spells, incantations, magicks. We believed, fervently, in the power of words to bring about ones own will. We believed that some words had great, great power, and some were hidden away in books or locked in codes so that they couldn't wreak havoc. And yes, one of those words that is revered by many occultists is YHWH, Yahweh, Jehovah.
Then I was born again and I still believe in the power of words.
I believe the authority of a Christian saying "Get out in the name of Jesus." Or "Be healed in the name of Jesus" can and does make mighty things happen.
The words themselves are an outworking of the authority given to the individual by Jesus. Words reveal what's going on in our hearts and our spirits. But a single word, a set of letters, has no esotoric power inherent within it. Words can condemn people to death, but its the people who say the words and follow them that actually have the power.
The command of a king carries power because of the authority of the king.
When a policeman holds up his hand and says "stop" is there a power in the word "stop" that forces you to draw your car to a stop, or is it the authority of the uniform?
And words can be used to communicate deep things.
A terrified person begging Jesus to protect him does not evoke a magic name, he asks the King of the universe for assistence and the King is always willing to give it.
I find this sort of stuff fascinating because I'm a frustrated fantasy novelist. Throughout history people have desperately sought some source of power that they can wield. Crystals, talismans (talisman - lots of them in the occult, with words carved into them to keep evil at bay) the holy grail, excalibur, magic words.
Jesus upholds the world by the word of his power, that's no specific word, but by the authority given to him to do such a thing.
