Dear e-magine

The experience I have is that The Watchtower Society doesn't disfellowship anybody that leave, so to speak glide out and become more and more inactive, for at last never be seen at a meeting.

The situations where they disfellowship is, if a person becomes active in agitating against their teachings and still have contact to members of the Society.

If a person leaves and no longer are active in any religion or belief system or either are posting at internet, which simply means not longer are recoqnized as a member of the Society, they don't care about such a person.

If they really would believe in the Scriptures and that they solely own and have the right to Pat Pend the truth, which mostly of them do, they would have recoqnized their Christian responsibility in general and in accordance to what comes forth in James chapter 5 versus 19 and 20, but the Society doesn't allow members of the Rank and File to pay such persons a visit, in question of spiritual subjects, only their well trained lakeys, the Elders, strictly in opposition to what the Scriptures tells us.

19 Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;

20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

They are aducated to only love those, who are willing to worship their Idol, The Watchtower Society and their doctrines of men, but are very afraid of that anybody shall explore their hipocrisy, in opposite case they don't care.

Ps. I know many fine intelligent and loving Elders, which are really seriouslyand really cares, but unfortunately are there too many, that are taking orders at their job, without any education and are cleaning windows and flors during the day, even that I respect all kind of honestly works, but are subdued by their wifes at home, then when they enter the Kingdom Halls, in their dark lounge suits, they becomes Kings with power over the Rank and Files.

The Scriptures describes it very well in proverbs chapter 30 versus 21 to 23:

21 For three [things] the earth is disquieted, and for four [which] it cannot bear:

22 For a servant when he reigneth; and a fool when he is filled with meat;

23 For an odious [woman] when she is married; and an handmaid that is heir to her mistress.

Hi,
For me it was part of a process that took several years, but the last straw was in the early eighties when the WTS tried to purge all those who did not go along with the F&DS 100%. I quietly stopped going to meetings then, it was perhaps a decade later I/we disassociated ourselves only to find out relatively recently, after over a further decade later, we had been disfellowshipped in absentia.

I was already thoroughly well aware, when I stopped going to meetings in the early 80's, how alien to the words of the Lord Jesus Christ was much of their treadmill schedule, out of context teaching and intellectual dishonesty, but the emotional attachment of c.40 years held me for some time.

There are millions of inactive JWs that don't go to meetings. Are they to be DF'd also?!?

Dear Melancholymuse

Maybe some Elders pay such persons one or two visits and if there is no response and a person hasn't been involved in any activity or are agitating against The Watchtower Society, they don't care because they learned to observe such persons as spiritually dead and teach their members they hate Jehovah and therefore are bad company.

What do they do about inactive JW's nowadays anyway?

Dear Tami - I'm sure you remember my story, but here's an old post that encapsulates it pretty well -

wolfie, dear sis - I knew your story even before I actually knew you, having read too too many similar ones on Silent Lambs. But knowing you now, as a friend, makes it so much more painful, much more undeniably, regrettably, true... and ugly and twisted and just plain sick. :crybaby::cry:

When you get done with your research, Tami, I hope you'll give us a peak? :siskiss:
Unlike the rest, I left before the advent of the internet. I did all my research the old fashion way. I learned early on (within a few short years) that there was trouble in paradise, but I made excuses for the leadership in Bethel, "they were imperfect, I bought into the "Isreal had lousy kings and leaders, why not the Christian congregation." I did not however, blindly tow the line.

I was .... am a bookworm, I love to read, so my association with the Society was a "marriage-made-in-heaven", as they love to publish. So as I began to read, I began to find the progression of new light. Later I read the writings of Russell and Rutherford. Russell made much more sense and there were things he taught that I had already concluded from my own studies.

If it hadn't been for my wife, I would have left long ago, but stay for her sake, I was already spiritual detached from them. As I could see the lies and the rewriting of their history.

I read Franz' books around 1985 as Tom Cabeen was a close friend of my wife's family, she knew him as a yound child, as he served as Elder in the French congregation. Franz' book already confirmed what I had already figured out, but it was good to have an insiders view.

I guess what did it for my wife and I (as I stated I was waiting for her) was the lack of love they showed. These people was so ignorant, they had no clue. And finally I told my wife "enough is enough, I'm not going back" and she joined me.

RR144,

I have only read one of CTRs books; "The New Creation".

It is one of the best spiritual books I have read outside of the bible.

Hi E-magine,
We disassociated ourselves, however, so we could not take the moral high ground since we originated the action, they disfellowshipped us instead, rather than recognise our letter to them showing who took the action first.

The generation change of 1995 is what really started it for me. Both the change itself but even moreso the accompanying attempt at trying to blame the rank and file for reading too much into the old teaching.

From that point on I began to learn more about the organization. I came to the conclusion that I wouldn't want to worship a God who supported such a guilt-inducing, fear-mongering, expectation-building, revisionist, pompous, out-of-touch, self-congratulatory, us-versus-them, statistics-driven, rule-obsessed, nitpicking religion.

Give me about a week or so, I'm nearly finished.
:)

Hi all ..,

I guess for me it wasn't really any 'one' thing ... but finding out many things that I thought were true (or weren't true) and found the opposite to be 'true' ... :(

I too did it it the 'old fashioned way' digging and digging into 'our publications' for answers, only to come up with more questions and jaw dropping information ...

I thank my God and his Son for those years of reasearch of and tears ...

The BIGGEST thing for me I guess was the 'partaking' ... or not partaking and what it meant to me personally when I discovered that indeed God's Word SUPPORTS the idea that ALL of those who are redeemed by Christ through his ransom are supposed to partake in gratitude, thankfulness, and deep respect for the life given to save us ...

This eye and heart opening 'truth' was closely followed by the NGO fiacso and cover-up of the WT ... that along with the various others doctrinal mistakes and mind-controlling 'rules' and such led me to embrace what I thought I had already but didn't ...

FREEDOM IN CHRIST

and

LOVE IN MORE ABUNDANCE than I thought possible!

Dear woofette ...

Soooo sorry to read of you and your daughter's heartaches ...

You know, Jah's spirit must be working on my poor brain today ... been in bed and in pain with back and neck again ... but ironically felt quite 'poetic' today and wrote a few poems ...

Your words so closely echoed my own words dear wolf sis that I thought I would put up what I wrote a short while ago BEFORE I read your comments ...

Not a rhyming poem ... just some thoughts expressions in verse ...

Here goes ... :giverose:

Spirit's Kiss

One time we felt alone
Struggling down life's path
Looking for answers
To life's futures hopes

Then one day it happens
We feel a carress
A stirring of life
Down deep in our chest

A feathlight kiss
From lips to our cheek
A sense of belonging
No longer alone

The air stirs around us
A warming embrace
It's charged with God's love
Our hearts spring to life

Heart speaks to heart
Hands hold on tight
There's nothing quite like it
As spirits unite

Eternally

Couldn't help but think that we were 'fitly united' today sis!! :friends::happyheart:

Luv to all ... BR :sheepy: :bouncyhearts:
