''For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now--and never to be equaled again.''
Matthew 24:21 :rose:
This is a part of the signs of the edge of the Age. Signs most are still watching I might add  :rose:
continuing on as Jesus conversed with his disciples :heartbeat: :rose:
''If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.'' (22) :rose:
''At that time if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!'' or, ''There he is!'' do not believe it.'' (23) :rose:
''For false Christs and false prophets will appeaer and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect--if that were possible.'' (24)
''See, I have told you ahead of time.'' (25) :rose:
''So, if anyone tells you, 'There he is, out in the desert,' do not go out: or, 'Here he is, in the inner rooms, do not believe it.'' (26) :rose:
''For as lightening that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.'' (27) :rose:
''Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.'' (28)
''Immediately after the distress of those days :rose:
''the sun will be darkened, :rose:
and the moon will not give its light;
the stars will fall from the sky,
and the heaevenly bodies will be shaken.'' (29) :rose:
''At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky,
and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and glory.'' (30) :rose:
''And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.'' (31) :rose:
''Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as the twigs are tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even
so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door. I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. Heaven and earth will pass away but my words will never pass away.'' (32-35) :rose:
Without a doubt one of the very most familiar Bible readings to most of us here. I will also say I always find it fascinating to not only read it but imagine the conversation as it was happening. It would have been so exciting to hear these words from our Lord..These scriptures have been interpreted many different ways--some think this prophesy was fulfilled long ago and some believe the fulfillment is yet for the future. As I read these words again today it has never been more clear to me how wrong the organization's take on it is and has been for so many many years and how misleading they have been to so many people. :( Anyone wishing to offer a thought on this is very welcome and encouraged :heartbeat: :rose:
In any event we know what we have to do-- :heartbeat: :rose:
''Let the teaching of Chriswt live in you richly.
Use all wisdom to teach and instruct each other by
singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with thankfulness :rose:
in your hearts to God. Everything you do or say should
be done to obey Jesus your Lord. And in all you do,
give thanks to God the Father through Jesus.'' Colossians3: 16-17
Have a wonderful day today friends :grouphug:
