Since there are so many attacks, cuts, slights, digs and insults towards the WBTS- what is YOUR opinion how the prophecy of Christ will be fulfilled?

And don't tell us it's by HIM!
Well my brother ... before I go off to the dishes ...

I think this is a GOOD topic to discuss IMHO and will no doubt raise many questions ...

For example ...

Was the preaching of the good news of the kingdom of God preached BEFORE witnesses, or Bible students, came along ...?

The answer would have to be ... YES ... or else Br. Russell wouldn't have learned the truths he learned from OTHER religions ...

Are we NOW the ONLY ones doing so ...?

We this would have to be NO ... we are not ...

There are MANY MANY people who believe and pray for the Kingdom of God to come ... and they are doing this WORLD-WIDE as well ...

Now ... as to whether those preaching about this good news of God's Kingdom with Christ as ruling king have it ALL right ... that of course is obvious ...

But since WE don't have it alright either ... I guess that when the holy spirit is poured out in the near future ... and TRUE KNOWLEDGE becomes ABUNDANT ... the the GOOD NEWS that will THEN be preached ... without any mistakes ... will be GOOD NEWS indeed ...:cheer::cheer::cheer:

Just a quick thought ... now gotta go and get my hands wet ...;)

Great topic my brother ... I'm sure many will join in ... :grouphug:

Luv as always to you and yours ... your sis BR ... aka CR ... :siskiss::whistle: :sheep: :bouncyhearts:

You're a real trip, BR!
I never found it so enjoyable when talking to someone who sees things differently!
But you should be USED to me by now!
You missed the point; it's not who BELIEVE or HOPE in the Kingdom- usually not even knowing what it IS- but those fulfilling Christ's prophecy as to PREACHING it throughout the world! THEN the END comes. Then the world will be FILLED with the Knowledge of Jehovah!

In Revelation it mentions those with Christ from the Earth having the name of Christ- AND his Father (Rev 14: 1,2)...Who on earth but us even KNOW Jesus has a God & Father? They are pre-programmed (as I was as a Catholic) with the Trinity Fairy Tale! The Jews now even think it's wrong to spell out "GOD"-they write G_d!!!!!! The churches THROW the Name of God OCCASIONALLY into their sermons- to save face!

Who on earth tell people not to put trust in Human Governments- but to trust only the Kingdom of God? Telling them- and showing from the Bible that it is the ONLY hope for all mankind?

This just might be the ULTIMATE "Rhetorical" Question!

LOLOLOLO!

Mad

I don't know MAD I have not seen anyone who promotes trust in the kingdom of GOD.

THE FDS say trust them. I am sure many on this board can provide the proof to that..

Some people believe what they want to beleive..
Howdy M,

Might not the "good news of the kingdom" include promoting complete trust in our Lord and Master Jesus Christ?...(instead of 'coming' into the modern day ark of salvation' ...the WBTSociety Organization?)

Acts 1:7...

” He said to them: “It does not belong to YOU to get knowledge of the times or seasons which the Father has placed in his own jurisdiction; but YOU will receive power when the holy spirit arrives upon YOU, and YOU will be witnesses of me both in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the most distant part of the earth.”

Christian love,

Well actually there have been many religous groups preaching all over the world for years and years before the JW's even came to be, and there are still missionary groups all over the world today preaching about God and his son.

Now it may not be the same message as the WTBS has decided it should be, but then again how do we know who is teaching the right good news? :dontknow:

The basics should be pretty simple, we need to accept Christ as our saviour, repent of our sins, and try and lead a life that God and Jesus would be pleased with. Did I miss anything?

Take care.

You missed too much, Sheepdog:
Think of it: many- such in the Dark Ages-didn't accept the church propaganda, KNOWING it wasn't true. They read enough to BELIEVE in Jesus- without having ANY idea how he would end things at the appointed time!

The 'kingdom' was Heaven, to them- that's the drivel churches have always taught.
They were drawn into all the wars of nations down thru the ages- thinking it was God's will; everyone ELSE did- because of the churches...

So, NO- the "Good News of the Kingdom" was totally unknown, until the "End Times" spoken of by Daniel the Prophet! (Daniel 12)

And the churches STILL aren't teaching it; they set up voting booths in their buildings!

Hows it going buddy? I hope you are settling in well! I would like to ask you some questions -- What do you believe Gods Kingdom to be? Have you ever felt it in your life? Have you had experiences where you could feel the presence of the Kingdom? If so, how did it feel? What did you see? What have you come to know?

I know that when the Kingdom finally comes to full-ness in every measure of terms, it will be absolutely awesome! But something I have come to understand, is that the Kingdom is far more real, than something we like to think is solely future -- in fact, the whole life course of Christ was a Kingdom life -- the resonance of his Life Force, was one that could rightly be said was 'in' the Kingdom! And that Kingdom is right NOW!!

He showed us the true nature of the Father -- and, Jesus showed us the true nature of mankind -- Life Force Energy resonating as Love -- not just any Love, but tempered with the Righteous Pillars of Jahs qualities -- to show us the true meaning of Love, from micro to macro!!

The scriptures, the Holy Spirit, Jesus' Life course, and our Father -- Jehovah God! -- have given us the means to become more and more a part of Jehovahs Will -- to BE the person Jehovah created us to BE, in accord with His Will -- and that is to realise our true nature!!

Now, with all the flak I give Watchtower Religion, I do realise the good that is done -- however, one thing Jehovahs Witnesses just miss the mark on (among the many actually!! Hehehe!!) is that by focusing on a future Kingdom, that may never actually 'come' in ones life time -- they (and thats a generalised 'they') bypass Gods Kingdom in action now -- the Kingdom that is well and truly in force right now, and end up becoming attached to the earthly Organisation as the sole representation of the Body of Christ (which really, is only the 144000, so they say).

Sorry brother -- but there are a lot of JWs who have no idea what the Kingodm is about, because they do not focus on the King -- they focus on the Organisation, they are conditioned to see only the negative and dark realities of life -- and just because you go around knocking on peoples door with a magazine that says "Announcing Jehovahs Kingdom", dont mean squat dude.

If JWs were truly seeking the Kingdom first, the word Organisation would not exist.

While I know and acknowledge the good JWs have done (which seems like it is only ever done for the Goodness of Jehovahs Organisation) -- it is a complete and utter fallacy -- in my mind -- to think or to say that JWs are the only means to which the Good news will be preached to the entire earth. You cannot preach about, something that you have not experienced before. So -- what do ya think buddy? Hehehe!! (Notice I am not being too sarcastic today! I am going to make an effort in that area!)

May LOVE be with you!

Thank you, DP! I AM settled in - and LOVE it here in the Seattle area! And from what the congregation ( a small one south of Seattle) tells me- it's a HUGE area with a small number of brothers & sisters to preach! I can see the Almighty's hand in my move- I LOVE to preach, to cheer up- and to encourage people- if or if NOT they have an interest in the Bible!

I have a perfect rapport with you on the Kingdom- and feel it's presence at ALL times; it's like Christ is looking over our shoulders going "Uh-uh!" or "Yes- continue, regardless!"
While everyone else are running around saying "What's this world COMING to?", we well KNOW- and rejoice!
One fact that might escape your notice is that Christ likened his followers to sheep- very humble & guidable people...the drawback to being meek, humble, & guidable- is the tendency to let things be, and not 'make waves'.
I PROMISE you that the VAST majority of my brothers- altho relying a little TOO much on our HQ, reallly DO trust & look to the King & his Father for guidance.

You said "it is a complete and utter fallacy -- in my mind -- to think or to say that JWs are the only means to which the Good news will be preached to the entire earth." Why? Yes- he can "have the Rocks" do it! But we already are!

"Kingdom" was the word inspired by God to help us understand! A kingdom is simply a government consisting of a King, his assistants- and his subjects!

The BIble- not us JWs- say those to be resurrected to heaven will rule with Christ as kings and priests> It tells us Christ was GIVEN this position by the One True God- it wasn't something he always had.

By obeying the direction & commands of the King, we are his subjects, his servants. Some of us are doing a lousy job- others are doing a great job!

Does this cover your questions?
Do you feel the Kingdom - and the good news about it, to be something else?????

Re: "Do you feel the Kingdom - and the good news about it, to be something else?????"

Is not the arrangement that brings about Jehovah's purpose (thousand year reign),secondary to what/who the "kingdom of God" is? So many are used to emphasizing the benefits of 'the kingdom' (paradise conditions etc.) that the most important aspect of the kingdom is put to the side!!! Our Master Jesus Christ IS the kingdom. To preach and teach this, is the good news!!! (Sure it's ok to talk about the benefits, yet in essence, Jesus Christ should be emphasized, imo)

Jesus said it himself...

Luke 17:21...

"For, look! the kingdom of God is in YOUR midst.”

Wrong, my friend!
Simple test: if Jesus the King existed alone- no angels, no men, no demons, no God & Father, no earth or universe...would he 'BE' the Kingdom?

That WAS a rhetorical....

Hi theMadArtist

Re: "...the kingdom of God is in YOUR midst."

(I used to explain it the same way as you, theMadArtist....since 1964 or there abouts...I was young (and innocent)...grin).(very convincingly too, I might add....I thought - choke...grin)

Now, a goal of mine is to more fully understand 'the kingdom' and its many facets.

Is the kingdom just/only a governmental arrangement, theMadArtist, in your view?

JUST a governmental arrangement?
LOLOLO! Cold words!
If it were simply more men- like in the days of Israel- yes.
But it's far more than that- altho literally, yes -a 'GA'...

What makes this no real comparison (sp- tired) is that it is a PERFECT King, with the Unlimited, Unequal Power of Holy Spirit from his Father- annnnnnnnnnd, corruption ANYWHERE will not be allowed to continue!

Jehovah>Spirit>Jesus>the Associate Kings> Angels in Heaven>Mankind on Earth - in perfect unity!

The preaching of the good news received impetus with the pouring out of holy spirit at Pentecost. Peter quotes Joel. When we read that scripture in Joel it is obvious that this is only a first fulfillment, the major fulfillment which one would assume would be even greater has not taken place.
Jesus in Acts 1:8 said his disciples would receive holy spirit to be witnesses of him to the most distant part of the earth.

2:28 "It will happen afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh;
And your sons and your daughters will prophesy.
Your old men will dream dreams.
Your young men will see visions.

2:29 "And also on the servants and on the handmaids in those days,
I will pour out my Spirit.

2:30 I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth:
Blood, fire, and pillars of smoke.

2:31 "The sun will be turned into darkness,
      And the moon into blood,
Before the great and terrible day of Yahweh comes.

  2:32 "It will happen that whoever will call on the name of Yahweh shall be saved;

Because the main setting is the great and terrible day of Yahweh/Jehovah, I don't think Joel has had its main fulfillment. Considering how dramatic the first outpouring was, then we have some amazing events to happen in the future.

This from the New Jerusalem Bible....I thought your relatives in those family snap shots of yours would appreciate it
