Good Morning, Everyone! :hibye: Thanks to all who made yesterday's text discussion such a rich one. Sis BruisedReed mentioned that she had not been able to locate the daily Scriptural text thread for Friday, February 16. If you, too, missed it, and would care to read it, just click on "Daily Scriptural Text," and it should be about the third or fourth one down. (They are a little out of chronological sequence. But, that's OK, right?) ;)
Daily Scriptural Text for Sunday, February 18, 2007:
17 "Any weapon whatever that will be formed against you will have no success, and any tongue at all that will rise up against you in the judgment you will condemn. This is the hereditary possession of the servants of Jehovah, and their righteousness is from me," is the utterance of Jehovah.
--Isaiah 54:17, New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures.
Complementary Scriptures:
7-10 So let God work His Will in you. Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper. Say a quiet yes to God and He'll be there in no time. Quit dabbling in sin. Purify your inner life. Quit playing the field. Hit bottom, and cry your eyes out. The fun and games are over. Get serious, really serious. Get down on your knees before the Master; it's the only way you'll get on your feet.
--James 4:7 (and 8-10), The Message Bible.*Â
__________Â
17 So then the dragon was furious (enraged) at the woman, and he went away to wage war on the remainder of her descendants -- [on those] who obey God's commandments and who have the testimony of Jesus Christ [and adhere to it and bear witness to Him].--Revelation 12:17, The Amplified Bible.
__________
29 Peter and the other apostles replied: "We must obey God rather than men!"
--Acts 5:29, New International Version.
__________
My comment: I think it's time to bring up a few perennial favorites, such as:
19 "They will fight against you but never prevail over you, since I am with you to rescue you." [This is] [YHWH]'s declaration.--Jeremiah 1:19, Holman Christian Standard Bible.
__________
15 When the servant of the man of God got up early the next morning and went outside, there were troops, horses, and chariots everywhere. "Oh, sir, what will we do now?" the young man cried to Elisha.
16 "Don’t be afraid!" Elisha told him. "For there are more on our side than on theirs!" 17 Then Elisha prayed, "O [YHWH], open his eyes and let him see!" [YHWH] opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire.
--2 Kings 6:15-17, New Living Translation.
__________
16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said to the king, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. 17 If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king. 18 But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up."
--Daniel 3:16-18, English Standard Version.
__________
Since I am letting the Scriptures be my comment for today, let me close with one more, which I know is a favorite for all of us.
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
--Romans 8:31, 32, New King James Version.
Have A Scintillating Sunday Of Sacred Service, Everybody! :giverose:

Goodmorning Isomam....hope that you are safe and warm...it's cold here in Fl.
I loved the thoughts and the scripture in James......for us to get down on our knees before the Master,.....Christ Jesus......all knees will bend to Jesus in Worship.....we as JW who were taught to fear giving too much attention to Christ must come to know Him and must worship Him....its as Jehovah His Father would have it......not as the WTS would have it....
Jehovah wants his son worshiped..praised...adored and honored as the Father is honored....he wants his Son honored as he is honored Scriptures say to kiss the Son lest the Father become incensed.....the WTS does not teach the JW to do this....we must listen to our heavanly Father.....
All knees will bend before Jesus....this means worshipping Jesus...scripture after scripture makes this so clear....
The sad part is we don't know how....that is why I asked the question on the thread in reasoning on the scriptures asking about Matthew 11:28...how do we come to Jesus and how do we put our burdens on him......how do we ask anything in his name and he will give it to us.
The weapon being formed against Jehovah is the mentality that we can't come to Jesus and we shouldn't worship Jesus....Jehovah tells us he draws us to his Son.....
This  is something we as JW wrestle with.....afraid to give too much to Jesus ...but we can't give Jesus too much as it all goes to the Father anyways....
