Greetings everyone!
Every once and a while the Paradise Cafe experiences an upheaval. The cause is usually related to misunderstanding and sometimes a rejection of board guidelines. Often, when combined with our human nature, these can escalate into major differences and result in contentions.
We feel that the axiom: "Love covers...." should be the focus of all on the board. Might I add patience, wisdom from above and real 'listening' to each other. The scripture text that comes to mind is found at James 1:19-21, namely:
"Know this, my beloved brothers. Every man must be swift about hearing, slow about speaking, slow about wrath; for man’s wrath does not work out God’s righteousness. Hence put away all filthiness and that superfluous thing, badness, and accept with mildness the implanting of the word which is able to save YOUR souls."
A suggestion. If you read something that makes your blood boil (or something like that), walk away from your keyboard ... really! Walk away! Grab your bible, sit down and have a two-way conversation with your Father in heaven. Ask him to give you the spirit of the Christ. Let that control in your heart before you put your fingers on the keyboard.
May our little oasis here at Paradise Cafe continue to be a place of peace and rest. May the Lord lead us to those green pastures and calm, clear waters that will restore our souls.
A blessing to all of the Lord's dear sheep. May we always start every day anew.

Freudian slip!!!! :help:
[Eek! Brendan looks at slips!]
Huh..? Idi amin is a facist dictator.
Amin's rule was characterised by human rights abuses, political repression, ethnic persecution, extrajudicial killings, nepotism, corruption and gross economic mismanagement. The number of people killed as a result of his regime is estimated by international observers and human rights groups to range from 100,000[1] to 500,000.
Freudian slip!!!! :help:

Slander, oppression - could it be worse in Uganda???? Yeah, maybe it could!
[You might want to stop while you're ahead, Brendan. We don't allow fighting on this forum -- Admin.]
Hi Admin,
It was a wise decision to reinstate Anthony...it speaks to strength not weakness.
Peace to you
Derek
Well said, Admin. When you "lose it," you lose - no question about it. When someone says something ridiculous, let it stand on its own merits. Your fellow Christians will understand.

I recently saw this posted on another forum. I enjoyed the way it was worded. Thought I'd share.:) Blithe
I must be very forthright because I often feel like a man who has owns a public pool that has rules posted outside: Don't pee in the pool.
Then a guy comes in and pees in the pool after he's signed the rules saying he agreed to them. I'm patient for a while because I want to be courteous and patient with people who may have been skimming over the rules when they came in. After all, we're all excited to go swimming right away so maybe he missed that part.
So I kindly remind people that, in this pool, we don't do that.
But then the guy does it again. When I ask him why, he's like: Prove to me that it's wrong to pee in the pool. I try to be patient and kind but, after a while, I've got to say: "Dude! Read the rules again. This is a community of people that doesn't pee in the pool. It's not up to me to prove to you that it's bad. You're welcome to stay if you stop doing that but don't make us all justify why we're not like the pool down the street where that behavior is perfectly acceptable."
It's not often that I enforce the "rules" . I simply think it is completely unfair to the members who have Biblical convictions on the subject ### for the guy who says: "I'm just like you" when he agrees to the rules but then he comes in and trashes everyone's conviction on the subject. He is shocked and horrified over the responses he receives and refers to it as legalism. If you think the ### are a bunch of legalists then why'd you join our forum to begin with?
This, ladies and gentlemen, I consider extremely rude. But I was raised to be patient with rude people. I'm simply asking you to consider your audience if you are not on board with the ### and remember that, if you do not agree with the ###, you are here as an exception to the rule.
Hi Gus Whoohoo! and a happy return,
I thought about you a week or so ago...wondering how you and life is; and here you appear.
Amazing Grace.
