Psalm 11
The LORD Is in His Holy Temple
1 In the LORD I take refuge;how can you say to my soul,
"Flee like a bird to your mountain,
2 for behold, the wicked bend the bow;
they have fitted their arrow to the string
to shoot in the dark at the upright in heart;
3 if the foundations are destroyed,
what can the righteous do?"
4 The LORD is in his holy temple;
the LORD’s throne is in heaven;
his eyes see, his eyelids test the children of man.

5 The LORD tests the righteous,
but his soul hates the wicked and the one who loves violence.
6 Let him rain coals on the wicked;
fire and sulfur and a scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup.
7 For the LORD is righteous; he loves righteous deeds;
the upright shall behold his face.

Job 23:10
But he knows the way that I take;
when he has tried me, I shall come out as gold.

Psalm 26:2
Prove me, O LORD, and try me;
test my heart and my mind.

Psalm 66:10
For you, O God, have tested us;
you have tried us as silver is tried.

Psalm 139:23
Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!

Zechariah 13:9
And I will put this third into the fire,
and refine them as one refines silver,
and test them as gold is tested.
They will call upon my name,
and I will answer them.
I will say, 'They are my people';
and they will say, 'The LORD is my God.'"

Malachi 3:3
He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, and they will bring offerings in righteousness to the LORD.

1 Peter 1:7
so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

It's a good thing to ask God to look into our minds and hearts - to test us, correct us, and refine us. May our Wonderful Father find our true love for Him and His Son and say of us, too: "They are my people!"

Jesus is the mirror that we must look at, even peer deeply into. It is this way we can discern what we really look like. About Jesus is written -

"For the Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." - Hebrews 4:12

Jesus knows us very deeply and can reveal the Truth to us. He gives us eye-salve so that we can see. However we must really want to know the truth and come into the light so that we can be exposed.

When we undergo trials it creates gold when Jesus is revealed in us.
