Here is another scripture where Jehovah asks his people to flee from Babylon:
Jeremiah 51:6
“FLEE out of the midst of Babylon, and provide escape each one for his own soul. Do not be rendered inanimate through her error. For it is the time of vengeance belonging to Jehovah. There is treatment that he is paying back to her. 7 Babylon has been a golden cup in the hand of Jehovah, she making all the earth drunk. From her wine the nations have drunk. That is why the nations keep acting crazed.
Do not be rendered inanimate through her error
is also translated as:
be not cut off in her iniquity
(do not share in her sins?)
Has this ever had a historical fulfillment?
If your read further it says:
Jeremiah 50:19
“The Share of Jacob is not like these things, for he is the Former of everything, even the staff of his inheritance. Jehovah of armies is his name.
20 “You are a club for me, as weapons of war, and by you I shall certainly dash nations to pieces, and by you I will bring kingdoms to ruin.
Has this ever had historical fulfillment after God's people were asked to flee Babylon?
Like Revelation Chapter 18 God's people are not told where to flee to.
They are just told to keep going!
Jeremiah 51:50
“YOU escapees from the sword, keep going. Do not stand still. From far away remember Jehovah, and may Jerusalem herself come up into YOUR heart.â€
