I have found this board and thought I'd join. I am an ex-JW. I am no longer religious but open minded and still want to explore Christianity even if it is in a somewhat academic way.
I post on JWN as "Cantleave" so I think some of you will know me from there. That name is so inappropriate that I have a new name on here. I haven't quite worked out exactly the nature of this site, but it seems to be approaching a different angle from JWN.
If you would like to know a bit more about me my story is on freeminds.

Welcome FADINGFASTJW . Looking in an academic way is good when trying to build up a faith again from scratch. I hope we can encourage you in your continued search for who God is and what makes sense anyway.
Brian.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I'm still learning to navigate around this forum. There are some really interesting historic threads on here so I have a bit of catching up to do.

Well FADINGFASTJW, you've certainly reported your life vividly. As I read, I was waiting for some grand fanale but then realized it wasn't a novel after all. But then all of us here have led novel lives and all I can say is, "Stay on your learning curve, and accept the corrective spirit of our Lord and Christ."
There's so much to say and so little time to say it all, so keep foraging and you'll soon be able to separate the flak from the genuine, solid building blocks of faith. It's taken me a long time. But then I'm a slow learner.
