Hannover, Germany. The two policemen inside a car at a crossing thought it is going to be another cold, sleepy night. That is why they were all the more surprised when they see a car accelerating instead of stoping and crossing through the red light. It was 11:00 pm.
They followed the car. By the time the car stoped at the driver's home, the Police already knew that they were not chasing a toyota with a defect accelerator, but a luxurious VW Phaeton.
Not only the driver, but the entire car smelled alcohol. They decided to take the driver to the station so that they can test the amount of alchohol in the blood. That was when they realize, that the driver was not an ordinariy person. It was Madam Bishop Margot Kaessmann! The newly elected head of the protestant church in Germany! A bishop representing 25 million adherents of her church.
Most strange to the people was the timing of the incident. It was the month of fasting for protestants, a time to abstain from excesses and a time to reflect.
The Bishop's driving licence was confiscated. The alchohol that was found in her blood, 1.54 promille, was three times higher than the law would have tolerated. It was equivalent to drinking an entire bottle of Wine.
Bishop Kaessmann is under investigation by the federal Attorney. For some pictures of Bishop Margot Kaessmann, here a link:

BTW, Bishop Kaessmann was not alone in the car while driving under Alcohol. She was accompanied by a man whose identity is the police doesn't release.
