i was just privileged to witness a spiritual event of the highest order.
the concert was, to me, a massive collective crying out to god, something along the lines of habakkuk's "how long, o yhwh, how long?"
entertainers, personalities, and performers of fame and fortune checked whatever egos they had outside the doors and poured their hearts and souls into evoking compassion from the masses.
are those who are donating their time, energy, talent, and significant amounts of money from their personal wealth putting on the concert and coordinating this great relief effort without blemish themselves? of course not. who would even think to inquire at a time like this about such a thing? without blemish? there was one human who was. i'm not. you're not. let us hope our balanced spiritual perspective allows us to focus on the good that is being done, right now.
how many of the performers singing their dirges raised their eyes heavenward? pleadingly so. i believe that -- to the man or woman -- they understand there is more to life than this temporary groaning and crying out.

I watched some of it last night too and thought it was wonderful. It was on until 11:00 pm and I am not sure when I fell asleep--way late for me. I find myself awfully emotional over this situation. I watched a woman who had been trapped in rubble for 7 days rescued the other day and when she was taken out she stood up and raised her arms and began singing--thanking God for his goodness--It was Beautiful and I cried --and cried :crybaby: :crybaby: it was an amazing testament to the human spirit--and human heart--and her faith...so much is soo sad tho. beyond words :cry:
