Isn't the intent of those bull runs to show how 'macho' a man is?

Yeah, it's not that I like idiots getting hurt - even though we can do our part, we can't stop them all, they outnumber us! I've always liked physical comedy - but it's just fantasy that people don't get hurt sometimes seriously from a simple spill. We watch those home videos and boy sometimes we flinch and say to each other "That had to hurt!" It's only really funny to me if there're no broken bones or spilled blood!
I know what you're saying Beau - they kinda ask for it, no surprise that somebody's gonna get a sharp horn in the tail. "Pity the fool".
To go into it knowing the risks - you might be gored or trampled by the bull or trampled by other men, is probably not much different, statistically, than snow skiing down a mountain. Certain risks apply - the bungee cord might snap, eh?! It's not only extrovertism, but thrill-seeking that gets those people's adrenaline pumping. That rush, I've heard it claimed, is as strong a pull for an extreme thrill junkie as heroin is to a drug addict.
I know nothing about that, lol. I'm an introvert:redface: and have avoided all those big prat-falls in life but sometimes trip on the little ones, lol.
You're right, Beau, the bull gets punished, sometimes very cruelly and not with a quick or merciful death, for doing what bulls do. It's dumb, yeah, but not as bad as dog fighting, cock fighting or any kind of animal fighting - it's all cruel and inhumane, imo. Didn't the Brits have fox hunting outlawed? That was a serious ages-old beloved tradition, so sometimes people can change things, and tree-huggers are good! :peace: Peace, baby!

Whatever bro, they arent my enemies, but they are idiots -- my heart rejoices whenever idiots get hurt. I rejoice because hopefully, it means an end to their part in stupidity.

At noon Elijah began to tease them. "Shout louder!" he said. "I'm sure Baal is a god! Perhaps he has too much to think about. Or maybe he has gone to the toilet. Or perhaps he's away on a trip. Maybe he's sleeping. You might have to wake him up."
So they shouted louder. They cut themselves with swords and spears until their blood flowed. That's what they usually did when things really looked hopeless. (1 Kings 18:27-28; New International Reader's Version)

He Who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord has them in derision [and in supreme contempt He mocks them]. (Psalm 2:4; Amplified Bible)

In a way I kind of agree with Beau, not in a mean way, but when people get silly, it's almost dishonest not to laugh. And I've seen intelligent people do some really stupid things (including myself).

Oh and by the way, I didn't watch any of it since I don't need to be reminded that I'm somehow related to those guys.

Why have you put this rubbish on a Bible Research Board?

Fortunately the 'Benny Hill' music is a warning that we are entering a realm of a negative quotient on the IQ scale.
Most of this nonsense is heavily fuelled by alcohol and of course testosterone, well until they get gored in that area that is.
I suppose the stupid will not be reproducing their kind, but the Pamplona run caused the death of a drunk tourist. All that alcohol also increases haemorraging.

Unfortunately I found slapstick humour more common in Germany, and Scandinavia than England. People in England tend not to laugh at people falling over on ice.

Hello Alien Resident :hibye:
I think you mixed up the word ' sensible', instead of using the word 'sensitive' as in some languages the two get confused. I haven't had a look at the site you mentioned as I'm too sensitive, :) and know it won't have a good effect on me! Coward that I am!
Regards,
Grateful :giverose:

Good morning sis:

DITTO! Sorry brother "AR", maybe i'll "peek" later, but i appreciated the "warning". :giverose:

Thanx for the heads up sis, coz i'm super duper "sensitive" to certain images, i.e. creepy avatars and movie posters!!!:D

Pray before you click on anything, everybody! :help:

Much Christian Love to ALL:grouphug::heartbeat:
sis

"sensible" is a synonym for "sensitive" in English, though its gone out of popular use in that way.
example; I'm sensible to your feelings.

It must have gone out of use many, many years ago then, because I've never heard of it used in that way ever? Anyway, as I speak a couple of languages, I know that the two do get mixed up in other languages, and as AR is from Germany, and it probably holds true in that language, when he translated 'sensible' it into English I imagined that he actually meant the word 'sensitive' in English, which translated into Italian, for example, would be 'sensibile'.
Example
The English word 'sensible' translates 'sensitivo' in Italian and the English word 'sensitive' translates 'sensibile'. Hope I haven't confused you even more?! Not an important issue anyway!

Grateful :giverose:

Hi all,

The following video is not for sensible persons. However, I invite you to have a look at it and comment on it. If you are unable to watch it to till the end, stop doing so but I would appreciate if you nevertheless comment how you find it and how long you could watch it. If you on the other hand have fun watching it, don't worry, there is a second part for you. You only need to click on the script "play list". A window will appear with "part one" and "part two". You click at "part two" and the show continues.

Please consider the following points in your comments.

If you enjoyed it; Did you watch part two too? What was funny about it? Would you recommend it to others? Would you show it to your children?

If you couldn't stand it; When did you stopped watching it? Do you think it is cruel in general or are you personally a sensible person who can't stand such things? What do you think of the folks who play such "games"? What do you feel about the animals involved?

Thank you in Advance for your input. And here it is.

I believe our Heavenly Father gives us intellectual capacity for a good reason. Would it not be reasonable that all of us should develope a set of situation ethics. For someone to purposely put themselves in harms way - such as the people in this running bull video - would it not be a matter of reaping what they sew? For my part - I would avoid being in such a place in the first place - If I had a choice.

This is why America's Funniest Home Videos is such a hit. I personally don't find anything amusing about watching someone else get hurt. Most of this country seems to love that show. I abhor it. The videos you posted might win first prize on AFHV.

I find it interesting that we live in a world that wil kick our butts evry day of the week if we are not carefull..

from drowning to starving to wild animals of both beast and man.

This is a dangerous world we live in.
IF once you learn that fire be bad for your flesh as it cooks the meat you eat. And you think walking in it is cool..
then you might just get what is coming to you.

it is the same principle with sin. no room left for mercy to me. unless you have a serious brain malfunction.

we have been given grace cause we aren't as smart as we think. If we become as smart as we think and still commit a sin or "act of stupidity" we only have judgement left or the consequence of our action.

To me it is the same thing.

If we continually do the same thing and it hurts yet we expect a different result. we have a serious problem.

Is it not enough to see it hurt someone else? for some it's not.
I feel sorry for those people.

as fare as knuckle head things
I have done some really dumb things myself and I can still laugh at them. and they were painfull.
I wonder why I "wasn't thinking"
