Almighty Father,
I saw the suffering in Haiti and right now I don't know what to say. O my God, if I had the power, I would never let that happen. But I fully thrust in You that you have the best of our interests in mind. You know better, Father. We are only little children who can't grasp what is going on. You are a wonderous God and we are confident that we will marvel at your work, when we understand why you allow all this.
May you watch over all who are enduring such a horrible disaster, Father. May your will be done, and not ours!
In the name of Jesus we all pray,
Amen
"But just as it is written: "Eye has not seen and ear has not heard, neither have there been conceived in the heart of man the things that God has prepared for those who love Him." " 1 Cor. 2:9, Isa. 64:4
May your Kingdom come.
Amen
Amen to that, Alien Resident:(So sad and hard to understand the reasons why.:dontknow::thinking: God help them all.
Grateful :giverose:

The situation in the world is heartrending to be sure, and I appreciate the heart felt comments here. But I believe we need to get tough with ourselves and plug into the same mindset that the Father and the Son have – that in my view is very hard-edged.
Think: If you were God Almighty - and the free moral agents that you had created rebelled against you, how would you solve it? As persons that have been watching the mess down here on the earth for lo these many thousands of years - YHWH has to have “hard-edged†on his list of personality traits. Especially since he could snap his fingers anytime and “fix†the mess at least at face value, it must be unimaginably frustrating to have to sit and WAIT for “the vine of the earth†to come to the point where its ready for the harvest:
“Put your sharp sickle in and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth, because its grapes have become ripe.†Revelation 14:18.
So I think that “hard-edged†is where we need to be folks.
Jesus said: “he who endures to the end will be saved.â€
There just is no other way. And one day we’ll all be looking back on this mess - and be glad for the manner in which the True God handled it, because the Fix will last forever...

Hi Veritas Re :hibye:
I strongly feel that God is waiting for Mankind to learn - from experience - what Adam would not take as advice: that we will die without Him. I honestly think the basis of the history of Mankind is as simple as that.
Adam wanted to have the god-like authority the adversary promised, and God let him take it - but outside His Eden, His protection. Adam usurped God's authority, became "god" in the earth, and today those who lead the nations have that god-like authority - -they have no earthly superiors. When Mankind wants help, it only have its own "god-like" authority to call to - but when it realises it needs the Heavens and asks for the Heavens to preside over it again, then God will have the authority to step in when disasters strike.
I know it sounds simplistic, but it is perfect justice and the perfect way for Mankind to start its reconciliation with God. This way, the great issue, the theme of the Bible, is settled by Mankind's own resigned admission - much better than wiping out adam and Eve and starting again.
I understand what you say about being "strong edged" - perhaps "peacefully resilient by our Lord's strength"?
Nice point VR
