A theory on the identity of the “head as though slaughtered†– that comes back to life.
The following is based on the proposal that the “head as though slaughtered†was Nazi Germany, and that this head “got healed†(yet future) in that the next generation leadership of Nazism born after World War II have been operating behind the scenes with the old guard Nazis to perpetuate National Socialism – that one day rises again into a Fourth Reich that will attain the globalist oriented failed goals of the Third Reich ....

Professor Sutton has written numerous books that make the connections with Wall Street bankers funding the Bolshevik Revolution that overthrew the Czar of Russia and ushered in Communism, which based on other reading, was the model for the coming beast image of Revelation, which I feel certain is having its real world outworking in the totalitarian global NWO machine - that I believe we are seeing unfold in real time right in front of us on the six o’clock news - via 9-11, the war on Iraq and Afghanistan, the global financial meltdown, etc.
Here is an interesting quote of what Rutherford expected as far back as 1938, before the declaration of WWII ... his talk on “Face the Facts†(as quoted from R.Franz’ book, Crisis of Conscience):
"God has made it clearly to be seen by those who diligently seek the truth that religion is a form of worship but which denies the power of God and turns men away from God. . . . Religion and Christianity are therefore exactly opposite to each other. . . .3 (Jehovah’s Witnesses now view “religion†as an acceptable term for true worship.)

Very interesting idea, I'd never heard the Beast refered to as God's Kingdom.
I do Have a couple of questions:
Who is the dragon that gives the beast its power? (vs2)
Who is the beast that comes out of the earth and made the inhabitants of the earth worship the first beast? (vs 11-17)
How does he deceive the inhabitants of the earth in vs14, and what is the image?
Finaly what would be the mark of vs 16-17?

If you read the last few verses of Rev 12 you can see the serpent/dragon connection.
The dragon is Satan.
Satan sowed weeds in amongst the wheat.
His motive is therefore designed to undermine God's true kingdom
Revelation Chapter 13 helps us see how he acheives this.
If Satan is indeed successfull at undermining God's true kingdom then it will have gone astray, wild.
2nd Thessalonians shows that he will also be the one responsible for the "man of lawlessness" who enters the temple and receives veneration from the undermined kingdom.
How does he deceive the inhabitants of the earth in vs14, and what is the image?
The "man of lawlessness" who enters the actual temple is the image (idol) and receives undue veneration from the people inside God's kingdom.
The operation of error that God allows to continue for some time.
That is how the inhabitants of the earth are deceived.

The beast that comes out of the earth and creates the image, instead of usurping the first beast, give it veneration. That helps solidify the deception.
The people (undermined by Satan's weeds) who create the image continue to glorify their roots and predecessors. eg: Charles Taze Russel and the Bible Students.
So:
First Beast = CTR and the Bible Students
Second Beast = Jehovah's Witnesses and God's Spirit Directed Organization (the image/idol)
Finaly what would be the mark of vs 16-17?
The mark is intimately tied in with the name of the wild beast and the number of it's name and also with giving veneration to the image.
It is all connected.
The mark is symbolically and randomly received on either the forehead or hand as it is the final stage of giving veneration to the name/image of the wild beast.
A Jehovah's Witness baptism is not considered complete until the very last part of a persons body goes under the water (full immersion)
The last part is either the hand or forehead.
When that is complete you are now considered a part of "God's Spirit Directed Organization", the name/image.
You are then allowed to go door to door selling Satan's (the dragon) deception to buy more people with it. Buying and selling.

If you want to go down the rabbit hole and see how truly spectacular Satan's unrighteous deception has been then I suggest you watch the video's.
If Satan was to be successful then he needed to create a deception that no one in the world would believe.
He has done exactly that.
