Hi there Stephen ...! :D:hibye:
I ditto vicky's thanks dear brother!!
I wasn't sure exactly what this Khabouris Codex was and so I went to look it up ... it sounds very interesting!! :post: :read::cheer:
Here is a link to finding out what it is ...
http://www.aramaicpeshitta.com/AramaicNT.../intro.htm
Here are some of the highlights I noticed in the explanation that could really make this an interesting source of reference ...
The Khaburis Manuscript is a copy of a second century New Testament, which was written in approximately 165 AD (internally documented as 100 years after the great persecution of the Christians by Nero, in 65AD). Carbon dating has found this copy of the New Testament to be approximately 1,000 years old. Given its origins, this would make it a copy of the oldest known New Testament manuscript.
The original second century manuscript, as well as the Khaburis, were scribed in the ancient Estrangelo script. The script which was developed at the School of Edessa (100AD) in order to record the Teachings of Y’Shua. The word, Estrangelo, actually means “to write the Revealed Message.â€
To preserve accuracy in comprehension of the message, the writings needed to clearly represent the pronunciation of the vowels in each word. So, in Estrangelo, vowel points were added to clarify the pronunciations, and meanings. It appears that Estrangelo was the first such Semitic writing to include these vowel points.
Thanks again ... will look forward to digging around on the site you gave us and get my hubby to add it to my research collection ...!! :cheer:
Luv your sis BR :sheepy: :bouncyhearts:
Great stuff, Stephen! We have so much more to learn. And just as I find the time to get into it all, life becomes short and we run out of this once wasted and now preciously scarce commodity called TIME!:crybaby:
How many lifetimes would it take to find the "honest" truth??? (I'm just realizing how much dishonest truth has been rammed down our throats by the religiosity of the masses versus the simplicity of honest truth:read::detective::whistle:.)
