"Yahweh is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? Yahweh is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid?" Psalm 27:1, World English Bible
Those who serve the true God rely solely upon Him at all times, whether those times are considered fortunate or prosperous or in times of great persecution from God's enemies.
Because God's people have faith in the Father's grand promises, they do not fear their enemy. God promises to bring all of His faithful ones under His protection, and even if the enemy destroys Christ's sheep, they are given the promise of the resurrection. In the Gospel of John we read: "Don't marvel at this, for the hour comes, in which all that are in the tombs will hear his voice, and will come out; those who have done good, to the resurrection of life; and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of judgment." (John 5:28,29) Again in John's Gospel: "Martha said to him, 'I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.'" (John 11:24)
Nothing is beyond the power of Almighty God. He is able to raise the dead from the living and give eternal life to His people. "God is not the God of the dead, but of the living." (Matthew 22:32) "How sweet are your promises to my taste, more than honey to my mouth!" (Psalm 119:103)
