"Do not put your trust in princes, each a son of man in whom there is no help." - Psalm 146:3
The Psalmist tells us "they that know your name will put their trust in you; for you, Jehovah, have not forsaken those that seek you" (Psalm 9:10). Even if those around us who claim to serve Jehovah God attempt to abuse us or deride us, it is not we who have left the side of the Father, but it is they who have wrongfully taken the position of judge in order to condemn their fellow brothers and sisters. The true God never abandons His faithful servants.
We must bear in mind that while some would attempt to lord their powers over Christ's own sheep, abusing the authority they claim derives from God, the mature servant of Jehovah knows where he is to put his faith. Again we read from God's inspired word: "Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will make mention of the name of Jehovah our God." (Psalm 20:7)
