I recently watched some videos that i really enjoyed, thought I'd just post a little about them for any who hav'nt seen them. Both are nice introductory videos about Jesus.

1. THE CASE FOR CHRIST by LEE STROBEL
Based on his book of the same name. A very well laid out documentary film highlighting the investigation of the evidence for the existance of Jesus and to confirm that He really was the son of God and the savior of the world.

2. THE JESUS FILM http://www.jesusfilm.org/
A film made in 1979 based on the account of Luke. Amazingly this film has been shown in over 220 lands and is available in 1000 languages:shocked: Hows that for preaching the good news?! Watch it online for free, I think you'll enjoy it.

I really appreciate the hard work that many are putting out to ensure that the message about Christ is spreading. Gods spirit is surely behind such work! It is bringing the basic truth about the only way for salvation and the true hope for mankind to millions earthwide. Once the seed is planted, may God make it grow. (1 Cor. 3:7)

And to think we all (JW's) at one time thought we were the only ones preaching!:( It's so nice to see that it is indeed a worldwide effort from ones who sincerely love and believe in Jesus. :read:

At this summers convention, the bethel speaker said, "JW's are the only people preaching the Kingdom and the end of this system"
This to prove the GB only, is spirit directed.

But most of the JW's listening to that will believe it.:( Just like we all did at one time!:readthis::(

Has anyone read the Grapes of Wrath?
During the terrible travails of the Joad family, the 'Jehovah's' could be guaranteed on for giving help.
If we are one of 'Jehovah's' we will still be doing that daily if we can.
That is the true preaching, by action.

'an actor plays the part of Jesus.........'

 the list of languages never heard   better than 'The Life of Brian'.
Wonder where the Pythons got there inspiration?
Like the WT is published in these 224 unpronouncable languages.
The fuzzy wigs and beards are great.
Humour removed interesting bit of insight.

Hey BethelBoy, thanks for the links.

As a JW all my life I've never seen any of the wonderful things others are doing to help draw people to Christ. It is still quit amazing to me. One thing that I can really appreciate is that most of these works point ones to Christ and the bible , not to any certain church or organization. For me that really means something, it shows where their heart is, their motivation. I cant help but think it must truely mean something to God also!

The Jesus Film follows the book of Luke very well, that I liked. In the movie when they got to the evening meal and Judas was still there when they passed the bread and wine I said "no, no, he wasnt there." Then I got out my bible and went to Luke and read this part and the movie acually stuck with the bible narrative very closely. I guess I need to do some research on that.

Hey Vicky, I got a kick out of the crazy beards and hair too! I especially liked Peter, he looked like a mountain man. lol:rofl:I'd love to see the look on everyones face if he came through the kingdom hall door.:jawdrop:

Hey Jayme I know there are other posts on the topic of Judas being at the evening meal, and partaking. Comparisons with the other gospels suggest it is after that Jesus tells him that what he is doing, do quickly and he leaves. It is then that Jesus makes a promise for a kingdom. Try delving in the old posts under the Covenant.
The WT tries to get around this saying Luke is not chronological.
It is the most chronological of all the gospels.

There are also many faith building musical groups as a JW I would have never got the chance to hear. We were brainwashed into believing we are the best, we are the only ones deserving to know God. Is this attitude showing love, the identifying mark that Jesus said would identify his true and faithful followers, to have love amongst themselves? This love can't be turned off, by shunning others. This true love cannot judge our neighbors, and shun them. How many times have I heard about others at the kingdom hall and even told in private by elders...stay away from that kid, he or she are bad association. I thought we are to show love and try and snatch those falling, before they fall in the fire? Kids make mistakes. Who are we to judge? When I was a teen, I felt much like this video. Sometimes, I would sit in the car during meetings crying, or just leave.

Thanks Vicky for the reply. I've been reading all 4 gospel accounts of the passover meal and compareing them. I also plan on checking out some of the old posts as you recommended, thanks.

Hi New Heart,:hibye: Thanks for the reply, I too have discovered many wonderful faith strengthening musical artists. Casting Crowns is one I like also. Many of the songs I hear really speak of what ones are going through today and they give alot of hope and encouragement. Much of this music has helped me heal and bring me closer to my Heavenly Father.:happyheart:

I really sympathize with your words about being there for kids. My family has alot of experiance with elders warning us to stay away from some because they are bad association. Many times labeled as such for very minor things, such as not having their watchtower studied every week(sheesh!). Young ones need patience and love. They are bound to make mistakes (just as we all did) but with support they can make it. Some seem to think that just because a kid is raised in the "truth" and is maybe baptized that they wont be affected by the difficulties unique to youth. Sadly, many kids become conviced that they cannot please God and thus are unloved by Him and others, or worse, they decide to end their life out of hopelessness.:(

So sorry you felt so bad during the meetings. I understand as I have felt the same way.
