"And So The Band Just Played On"
by freyd
Once upon a starry night
Upon cold ocean waves
A ship met with an obstacle
From which it could not move away
The ship began to slowly sink
Though most were unaware
Ne'er the less she began to list
Towards a distant shore
The band was informed of the dreadful fate
That awaited all on board
But it decided to pretent that
Nothing had been heard.
So things went on in peace for a while
Until things began to fall
The band knew they could not be saved
And so they just played on.
The final ending did occur
Just as they had known
It's like that for many in this short life
As we know the end of the road
It's not a pleasant thought to ponder
And so we just pretend
That something's to be salvaged
By knowing not the end.
