Good Morning, Everyone! :hibye: Daily Scriptural Text for Tuesday, February 6, 2007:

44 "You are of your father, the devil, and it is your will to practice the lusts and gratify the desires [which are characteristic] of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a falsehood, he speaks what is natural to him, for he is a liar [himself] and the father of lies and of all that is false."--John 8:44, The Amplified Bible.
(The underscored portion corresponds to the portion of the verse cited in Examining the Scriptures Daily.)

Complementary Scriptures:

37 Pilate said to Him, Then you are a King? Jesus answered, "You say it! [You speak correctly!] For I am a King. [Certainly I am a King!] This is why I was born, and for this I have come into the world, to bear witness to the Truth. Everyone who is of the Truth [who is a friend of the Truth, who belongs to the Truth] hears and listens to My voice."--John 18:37, ibid.

16 But this is what you must do: Tell the truth to each other. Render verdicts in your courts that are just and that lead to peace.--Zechariah 8:16, New Living Version.
__________

25 Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another.--Ephesians 4:25, English Standard Version.

5 I give you my life.
Save me, [YHWH], God of truth.
--Psalm 31:5, New Century Version.
__________

16 But God says to the wicked,
"Why do you talk about My laws?
Why do you mention My agreement?"
--Psalm 50:16, ibid.
__________

10 "My people, you are My witnesses and My chosen servant.
I want you to know Me, to trust Me, and understand that I alone am God.
I have always been God; there can be no others."
--Isaiah 43:10, Contemporary English Version.
__________

2 Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute.
--2 Peter 2:2, New International Version.
__________

32 "Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."--John 8:32, ibid.
__________

5 But we did not listen to them or do what they wanted us to do so the truth of the Good News might be yours. ... 14 When I saw they were not honest about the truth of the Good News, I spoke to Peter in front of them all. I said, "If you are a Jew, but live like the people who are not Jews, why do you make the people who are not Jews live like the Jews?"--Galatians 2:5, 14, New Life Version.

3 I was very happy when some Christians came and told me about how you are following the truth. 4 I can have no greater joy than to hear that my children are following the truth. ... 8 So we should help such people. That way we will be working with them as they teach the truth.--3 John 3, 4, 8, ibid.

My comment: It is precisely due to the first lie, spoken by the "father of lies," that we are all in this present predicament, isn't it? And, yet, there is no "predicament" that our great God cannot resolve, while manifesting complete Love toward His creation; assuring that the Permanent Best Interests of his living, intelligent creation are served.

Satan the Devil = "the father of lies."
Christ Jesus = "THE TRUTH"! (John 14:6.)

Could there be any greater example of diametric opposites?!?

And, of course, as Psalm 31:5, quoted above, points out, Jesus' heavenly Father, YHWH, is the Original Source of all truth which resided in Christ Jesus; and which he (Jesus) manifested for the world of mankind to behold. YHWH God is the God of truth.

If you notice that my comments are frequently less extensive these last few days and weeks, that is because I am making a concerted effort to display the Scriptures in a pleasing and easy-to-read manner (so as to invite pondering and meditation); and to let the Scriptures do the majority of the speaking. I am quite happy to defer to the actual words of the Bible, and speak considerably less, myself.

Have A Terrific Tuesday, Everybody!
May All Of Us Continue To "Tell The Truth To Each Other"!

Much LOVE to ALL! isomam

How do we become free, from the father of the lie, and all his children? By the above scripture in John. Let God and the Chirst teach us the truth. Let his spirit reach our heart and cleanse our minds. Than we can become his true children, worshiping in spirit and truth.

Hi Iso :hibye: Hi Lynn :friends: Hi Everyone

I appreciate your thoughts on this (Both of you) and appreciate the thoughts of truth and how it is found in Jesus Christ but also in the power of letting the scriptures speak as I too believe in the inspiration of scriptures (I Think that is part of your point ;) ) I thought I'd add a couple of scriptures on 'truth'---- :happyheart:

''The teachings of the LORD are perfect,
they give new strength.
The rules of the LORD can be trusted;
they make plain people wise...
The judgements of the LORD are true;
they are completely right.'' Psalms 19:7-9 :heartbeat:

''We also know that the Son Of God has come
and has given us understanding so that we can know
the True One. And our lives are in the True One and in his
Son, Jesus Christ. This is the True God and life everlasting.''
I John 5:20 :rose::rose::rose: Holy Bible: New Century Version :grouphug:
