Our Scripture today is 1 Peter 3:8 ---
8 To sum up, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted, and humble in spirit; 9 not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you might inherit a blessing.
Psalm 10:17
O LORD, You have heard the desire of the humble; You will strengthen their heart, You will incline Your ear
Psalm 25:9
He leads the humble in justice, And He teaches the humble His way.
Psalm 37:11
But the humble will inherit the land, And will delight themselves in abundant prosperity.
Humility is the key element of our spiritual walk. Jesus Christ, even though being the very Son of God, exemplified the most humble attitude, the Way of God:
Matthew 11:29
"Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS.
Matthew 18:4
"Whoever then humbles himself as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 23:12
" Whoever exalts himself shall be humbled; and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted.
The apostles carried on in the Lord's footsteps, teaching this important instruction for us all:
Romans 12:16
Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind, but associate with the lowly Do not be wise in your own estimation.
Philippians 2:3
Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves;
Colossians 3:12
So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience;
1 Peter 5:5, 6
You younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time,
James 1:21
Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls.
James 4:10
Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you.
