I dont suppose many of you like these things, but i think a few of you might not avoid them. I want you to keep out all newspapers, magazines and to keep the TV and radio turned off everywhere if you do not already, as an experiment.

I don't know about burning televisions and radios...they kinda make weird popping noises and exhude gas that scares me...maybe dissemble? ;)

Honestly I've been away from television :tv: for almost five years now, and it's so refreshing. I think for myself more often now, and I find myself enjoying life and seeing the big picture more than ever. The radio :hypno: usually is exchanged for my fav music cds (BIG Celtic fan) and :news: papers are usually for me to giggle at because of how they are spun. :rofl:

Honestly the idea might have been right at one point for these things. To deliver truth and messages of things that people need to take action on. But it's been abused, twisted and popularized. We have traded truth for sensationalism. Instead of news we get the term "if it bleeds, it reads". People have become addicted to drama because of it. :secret:

I'd agree to turn off the media, it's a wondrous thing to enjoy life without it. :drinking:

it was just recently that the Governing Body had suggested the friends not to spend time in listening to the news as none of it was up building.
Strange isn't it !!
That's one reason most JWs inside the WT org haven't a clue as to what's going on, If they would read or listen to the reports about their org .then most would be aware of the WT and the NGO.
Its their being kept in the dark that , they are where they are.
Yet in Luke we read that when we see men becoming faint out of fear because of what is going on around us , then to know our deliverance is getting near.

Each day there is something new and each day is very up building to be watching Bible prophecy in the making. Now is the time to stayawake. we are admonished "so let us not sleep as the rest do, but let us stay awake and keep our senses. 1 Thess 5:6

I'm gonna play devil's advocate :devil: and suggest the possibility that though you keep on the look out as a watchdog against Satan, if Satan has infiltrated the media (which would be the wisest thing in my opinion) then isn't he seeing only what he WANTS you to see. We see mostly lies and half truths, the full truth isn't going to be found in main stream media and will only add more confusion to an all ready confused world.

So if that were the case would it not be better to turn off such outlets, meditate on truth and seek it out with the senses you have, limited though they might be?

I am glad I am awake, and can see through all the lies. I would still be asleep if I did'nt listen to my heart (Holy Spirit) calling me to keep on seeking, and searching.

In the organization, I felt clone like like I was being led somewhere besides paradise. If this was Gods temple, then why all the sad faces and so many problems? I could still hear my heart telling me, somethings wrong from within , like a trojan horse appearing good , and I went against their control and searched anyways. I did'nt give my heart to anyone except the Father and his Son, and still being connected enough to hear the Holy Spirit within me helping me, to get up and rise from this dead state I was in.

I can see right through the news, that the news is all mostly demonic propaganda, are all designed to keep everyone in fear, and that also is a big warning sign satan knows his time is short. He is so in fear of anyone finding the truth, that he makes bad things keep happening so that you will have fear. The news feels invented, or planted, stories to keep the sheeple away from whats really going on. The real news is what is happening to the sun, but you will not hear it on TV. Keep your eyes on the sun, well not literally. You won't hear this at any kingdom hall or news stations.

Hi Everyone-

I've got to say that while I don't place any value on what the media is dishing out to us, I do believe that one can often read between the lines and thereby hear some other things loud and clear. They often include information and disinformation that an aware audience can discipher with their own twist.

For example, there is all the information now about Michael Jackson's death. If anyone saw the video clip of the rehersal for his "This is It" tour, then you saw the dancers doing a dance version of a Nazi goose step march, while MJ sang "All I gotta say is that they don't really care about us." At the end of the clip they conclude with what looked to me like a Heil Hitler salute. The news commentator remarked that MJ was dancing by muscle memory. Just from that little bit of information, red flags should be waving and alarm bells going off like crazy! First, the MJ production had a political message. Was it too correct for someone with MJ's influence? Second, knowing MJ's religious background, what was the "It" in the name "This is It?" And, also, why would the commentator presumed to interject that MJ was dancing from muscle memory, as if he actually knew that to be true? Why the suggestive info? Just ideas that jumped to mind after two minutes of news. I don't personally know what's really the case about any of this, but the TV nonsense keeps me on my toes. Sometimes I wonder if they news broadcasters are ever embarrassed to report some of the things they do? I'd like to hear some reverse speech on some of their broadcasts.

In any case, sometimes you learn more from listening to the TV lies than a day spent searching for the truth. Just depends on how you are listening. Isn't it like going to the Kingdom Hall and listening to a talk? You spend more time dissecting the information for flaws and discrepancies.

All I have to say is if it weren't for the UK Guardian news paper , about the 10 year love affair of the WT with the UN, I would still be a prisoner in the WT organization.
It would take some thing that scandalous to make me check it out to prove it wrong.
Calling the UN myself , is what set me free. Those inside are still in the dark. Why ? Because they are in fear to listen . One of Satan's biggest weapons thru the centuries has been fear . Just being caught napping a few days can relax one to sleep.

So what is the experiment , to be ignorant of what's going on around us ?
Is that what Jesus would want of us ?? Those who are awake as to whats going on around us, won't be taken by surprise , when the NWO takes over.

What we are being fed by the news media is only half of the story
When one digs behind the scene ,you who are awake can see it is not propaganda. The Government is with holding much for fear of anarchy . Jesus is seeing that we get what we need.
( the propaganda is the plans to retore the earth to a man made paradise ).

Even in the first century the Christians kept a close watch on the movements of the Roman Government. Christians today are under the same Head Jesus Christ .

I think the key is in being balanced. If we listen to Everything we would be so consumed with the news that the days would all drift by in a haze of redundant news clips as most of the news is repeated over and over and over again and we would be always alarmed by things that never come to pass. There is a great deal of fear mongering in the news and so much of it never happens. Truth is a tough thing to be sure of also--just who is telling the news the way it really is. I have had people tell me they like to listen to american news from the canadian news channels because they feel it is more accurately told. I don't think one person's way is necessarily what another would want but I do feel it is refreshing and a good break to let a couple of days go by without watching the doom and gloom of news programs--but that is just me and I wouldn't speak for anyone else. I get really really Really depressed over murders and child abductions. I can't listen to all bad all the time or I start feeling bad all the time too--balance is key I think :love:
