Pretty big judgment for a Christian

"World's leading evangelist?"

What exactly does that mean? There are far bigger churches in Korea or Africa, probably better evangeslists standing on street corners.

That title, in my opinion, is simply given to make non-Christians think he speaks on behalf of all or many evangelical Christians. He doesn't.

As for hell, I still suspect it is not what annihalationists teach, but nor is it what fire-and-brimstone evangeslists teach.

The only thing I know for sure is that when MJ stands in front of Jesus, as he will, the words he will utter will NOT be "That's not fair."

However it all works, God's mercy and justice are unequaled and perfect.
My thoughts too, Malkah - never heard of him so he must've given himself that spiffy title.

That was one thing that always confused me before - a person could be likened to the devil himself in their life, but once they died they were eulogised as being in heaven.

That rather does away with the resurrection, doesn't it? Not all evangelical churches teach that of course. I was pleased to read a study from my MIL and FIL's church all about the resurrection, 1,000 yr. reign of Christ and the Kingdom of God.

The Bible doesn't teach that upon death we are before God's throne being judged - that happens at the 2nd resurrection. Believers in Christ Jesus will attain to the first resurrection, having already been judged by their faith, isn't that right?

I don't believe in a tormenting hell depicted by most evangelicals anyway, so that man's tirade seemed rather silly, along with self-righteous and down-right judgemental. Whatever God's judgement will be, it will be administered in justice and above all love, of that I'm certain.

Amen to that, Malkah, amen.

:peace:

People love titles Willa. The bigger the title, the more suspicious I am about the person. Best title in the world is "servant."

Not sure about 1st and 2nd ressurection. I don't really worry about the whens and whats and wherefores any more. I know that "man is appointed to die but once, and after that comes judgement" and that there is a ressuection of both the righteous and unrightous, some to eternal life, others to eternal contempt, and I know I desire with all my heart to stand, face to face with my Lord and King, after knowing him in this life, I cannot wait to see him and fully know him.

The details I leave up to God.

I've yet to come across a church that didn't preach the ressurection and 1000 yr reign of Jesus. I remember discussing it with a couple of JW's years back and they were absoutely positive that NO-ONE but them believed in the ressuretion and that ALL churches taught you floated about in heaven forever - wierd, I have no idea how they could've thought that. I also realised they had this mixed up idea about "spirit bodies" and "physical bodies" and thinking the two must be seperate forever. I suspect heaven in more real and more solid than anything down here.

Most kosher christian churches teach that heaven and earth will be united, the new heavens and the new earth, when the New Jersusalem comes down to earth. Earth becomes part of heaven.

But back to the point, whatever anyone thinks of poor Michael Jackson, only God is equiped to judge him correctly so everyone who isn't God needs to keep shtum. I don't know, we humans love to judge don't we?

:heartbeat:always good to see you Willa, how's the garden? Its horribly hot here, which makes long runs hard work. I did Edinburgh marathon in 26 degree heat - I've been to Edinburgh dozens of times in my life and it has never been so hot up in scotland, bleh. :friends:

Don't know if you know this Malkah but I really love you.
You are so funny.

Whatever judgment we presume to use on others, will be used on us.

Even women, like Phoebe, are allowed to be called servants, until it is translated into 'ministerial servant' in the NWT, then that becomes a for blokes only territory.

In Most kosher christian churches heaven and earth will be united as has never happened before. Check Eph 1:10

One of the reasons why I dislike the NWT

Love you,
Kosher Christian vick.

"Michael Jackson’s funeral – which religion will prevail?....If Michael Jackson died a Muslim, expect to hear of the proclamation of the Salat al-Janazah and news that he will be buried with his head pointing towards Mecca. These are imperatives for all Muslims and the only guard against Shaytaan..... Cranmer has only one thought on Michael Jackson’s spirituality: he was consistent. He simply exchanged one religion which offers absolutely no assurance of salvation for another. Both Jehovah’s Witnesses and Muslims have to earn their places in paradise: salvation is by works; the spirit is redeemed by the obedience of the flesh and the burden of submission to law."
