Hi everyone  busy day today and isn't this traditionally the first day of summer? we are still waiting for spring
Today's verse: :rose:
''Make a defense before everyone that demands of you a reason for the hope in you.--1 Peter 3:15 :rose:
''But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are happy. However, the object of their feear do not you feear, neither become afitated. But sanctify the Christ as Lord in your hearts, always ready to make a defense before everyone that demands of you a reason for the hope in you, but doing so together with a mild temper and deep respect.'' (15,16) :rose: :rose:
I think this is entirely reasonable that we should be able to talk about our hope in Christ--in Jah-and-in the Kingdom and what we base that hope on. I am especially taken with the last part of the scripture as to being mild in temper and showing deep respect. Too often these are the first things to go in a spirited conversation. :rose:
I also believe it is by our conduct that we sanctify God before others and that in turn encourages them to look to God. :heartbeat:
''but let it be the secret person of the heart in the incorruptible apparel of the quiet and mild spirit, which is of great value in the eyes of God.''1 Peter 3:4 :rose:
A few scriptures on Hope :heartbeat: and Hope is very important :heartbeat: :rose:
''because of the hope that is being reserved for you in the heavens. this hope you heard of before by the telling of the truth of that good news.'' Col. 1:5 :rose:
''I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.'' Romans 15:13 :rose:
This is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory.'' Colossians 1:27 :rose:
''Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.'' Hebrews 10:23 :rose:
and finally... :rose:
''Through Christ you have come to trust in God.And you have placed your faith and hope in God because he raised Christ from the dead and gave him great glory.'' 1 Peter 1:21
Hope is one of the abiding gifts of God. It has sustaining power and we all want to have that hope within us to sustain us and our faith........ :rose:
''Now, however, there remain faith, hope, love, these three:
but the greatest of these is love.'' :rose: :rose:
