Great study that concern every person.

Very informative study. Job was the target of satan because of his devotion to Jehovah. God said concerning Job: “There is no one like him in the earth, a man blameless and upright, fearing God and turning aside from bad.” (Job 1:8) Through the prophet Ezekiel, God pointed to Job as an example of righteousness. (Eze 14:14, 20) His patient endurance of suffering is set before Christians as a pattern, and his happy outcome is pointed to as magnifying Jehovah’s affection and mercy. (Jas 5:11)

Most Bible readers are familiar with the severe tests that came upon Job. Satan the Devil had asserted that under trying conditions Job would curse God. Jehovah accepted this challenge, and without delay Satan brought calamity upon Job. He lost all his livestock. Worse still, he suffered the loss of all his children in death. Shortly thereafter, Satan struck Job with a malignant boil from head to foot.—Job, chapters 1, 2.

What was the outcome? When his wife urged him to curse God, Job said: “As one of the senseless women speaks, you speak also. Shall we accept merely what is good from the true God and not accept also what is bad?” The Bible record adds: “In all this Job did not sin with his lips.” (Job 2:10)

Job faithfully endured and thus proved the Devil to be a liar. May we similarly endure trials and prove that our service to God is motivated by pure love for Jehovah.—Matthew 22:36-38. Job was a remarkable man of integrity! He had no way of knowing that he was being made the target of Satan’s wicked challenge.

This emphasizes his integrity all the more because even though he believed that all his suffering was from God, still he would not deny God or curse him. What a lesson for us, since we do know the source of the tests of our integrity!

Surely, we should be moved to imitate Job’s example and go forward in Jehovah’s work regardless of anything God’s Adversary can bring against us.

Enjoy it.
Hi SOJ, :hibye:

Thank you for the comment. I really appreciate your zeal for Jehovah`s organisation and the extent of your discernment.

Yea, what a wonderful Article! How thankful we should all be for the wonderful food at the proper time provided by the faithful and dicreet slave, don't you think? Especially as we live DEEP in the last days of this old System.

I find paragraph 15 especially encouraging, as I avoid all apostates like the plague. How the slave reveals to Jehovah's people that apostates are as dangerous as the devil himself is really eye opener, don't you think? Wow, that was deep, man! Especially the part where it says; "Their mind might be poisoned by a critical attitude toward individuals in the congregations, Christian elders or the Governing Body", is very interesting, to say the least. Wow, can't wait to consider the next article, which as I deduce from this one will contain yet another deep and well researched thoughts.

Oh, sorry I must run. It is already June, and I haven't been to the field service yet.

Take care, brother, will talk later.

This is seriously weird.

Only once does Job mention Jehovah's name and that is in dispute.

As Job was before Moses, it is highly likely he knew nothing about a name to help describe the creator.

Job could not uphold a 'name' he did not know.

I couldn't agree more. I also found the expression "Their minds might be poisoned by a critical attitude toward individuals in the congregations, Christian elders or the Governing Body" to be particularly timely and encouraging. How thankful we are to have such wonderful warnings for our benefit now so deep, deep, deep in the last days. What would we do without this wonderful and timely admonishment? I do really wonder sometimes. I am now fortified to take my stand against anything critical of the GB which we know is just about a perfect representation of Jehovah himself. They have such a flawless record of pointing the sheep in the right and wise direction. I particularly appreciate their timely warnings about the nearness of the end that have been given so wonderfully and constantly for the last 100 years. I don't know how I could be watchful without them.

SOJ, I appreciate your enthusiasm for spiritual matters. I can tell by your comments that you are sincere. Respectfully though, I would like to make a comment on the article to you.

In regards to this quote "Their minds might be poisoned by a critical attitude toward individuals in the congregations, Christian elders or the Governing Body" I really have to point your attention to read the context of 2 John 9,10 which the paragraph later cites....

Please read the entire chapter especially starting in verse 7. The apostate, or more accurately the antichrist, John was specifically speaking about in this chapter is one who does not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. He didn't even say 'the antichrist is one who speaks out against the apostles or the governing body in Jerusalem' so I object to the use of this scripture in this instance as if one who speaks against the elders or GB is an antichrist.

Now, if there is someone who tries to convince me that Christ never came in the flesh...I will definitely apply this scripture to them! Do you know what I mean?
Our funny brothers AlienResident and Nanamocomuck were doing that sarcastic humor/'tongue-in-cheek' thing that Bro Beau does sooo well.:P

Vicky's comment is really interesting!

Funny, they really don't want to talk much about how Jesus has already exalted, sanctified and glorified his Father's name - it's a done deal.

"Father, glorify Your name" Then a voice came out of heaven: "I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again." John 12:28
How did Jesus glorify his Father's name? I believe it was by his obedience unto death and then by his resurrection.

God is glorified through His Son - it was all His idea to put His Son first!

1Peter 4:11 Whoever speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Mark 9:37 "Whoever receives one child like this in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me does not receive Me, but Him who sent Me."

John 17:11 "I am no longer in the world; and yet they themselves are in the world, and I come to You Holy Father, keep them in Your name, the name which You have given Me, that they may be one even as We are.

Acts 4:10 let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead--by this name this man stands here before you in good health.
11 "He is the STONE WHICH WAS REJECTED by you, THE BUILDERS, but WHICH BECAME THE CHIEF CORNER stone.
12 "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved."

The patience and faith of Job is a fine subject - but we shouldn't let all the Hebrew, pre-Christian era examples obliterate the Gospel's shining examples of faith. Right now, in this life and in this age - it is ALL about Christ Jesus just as Jehovah planned it - we must have the Son to have the Father, it's as simple as that.

Matthew 11:27 "All things have been handed over to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.

1 John 2:23 Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father; the one who confesses the Son has the Father also.

There's soooo much more.... but I'll stop there... :read:

:peace:

Job got downright angry over the situation!

Just like many of us when under trial get very upset. That's when I usually refer people to the book of James where is says when under trial, it is from the wicked one. Because by wicked things, God cannot trial.

Job getting angry at God and Job expressing his anger is one of the poignant parts of the story. He didn't 'curse' God, but he was mad as the trial went on- his friends weren't friends, his wife had gotten angry enough to want Job to curse God, and the friends definitely were not watching out for Job's feelings at the time. Major Depression time!

I also appreciate how Jehovah answered Job. How loving and kind to have Jehovah come and take matters back into his hands, with a little 'attitude adjustment' given to Job!

I wondered if Job 'knew' God name. Interesting point, Vicky!:giverose:

I find the example of an Oriental, who seems to comes from no where, cultivates a sincere relationship with our Creator! That means anyone, anywhere can do the same!
