Paragraphs 11 and 14 are interesting in light of the changes being made at Spain's Bethel Headquarters.

It would be nice if the Witnesses in Spain could own the Bethel Home and run it as a true home for the elderly and infirm Witnesses.

Maybe they could vote on it

Currently the annual budget to run the Watchtower Society world wide is around $1 Billion US dollars. That's small compared to many main line Church organizations. The Baptist, Methodist, Lutheran, Presbyterian, and Episcopal Missions each run in excess of $15 Billion.

Good morning to all. Beautiful day to enjoy the wonders of Jehovah. This includes today's study.

There are two wonders that Jehovah made beacuse of his perfect love. One is the marvelous miracle that was performed in fulfillment of God’s promise, a virgin bringing forth the Son of God, and His further promise will also have fulfillment, “His kingdom shall never have an end.” Second, that His perfect human body therefore served as a suitable ransom sacrifice for mankind. (1 John 2:1, 2) ) If we exercise faith in the ransom sacrifice provided by God and obey Him, we too can have our sins forgiven and enjoy God’s favor and blessing. (John 3:17, 18)

Another point. Thus, rather than showing favor only to those who are rich in this world’s goods, Christians will make no distinctions on the basis of worldly belongings. They will seek out those who are rich toward God irrespective of whether they are rich or poor in a material way. Never forget that “God chose the ones who are poor respecting the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the Kingdom.” (James 2:5)

An important point. WHAT does it take to make you happy? Jesus acknowledged this fundamental urge, saying: “Happy are those conscious of their spiritual need,” or those who recognize and respond to their spiritual hunger. (Matt. 5:3)

Finally,Jehovah does not forget his loyal servants simply because they are no longer alive. On the contrary, “they are all living to him.” (Luke 20:37, 38) Jehovah’s purpose to bring back to life those who are in his memory is powerful evidence of his loyalty. Remember,If Jehovah does not forget the sparrow, how could he forget you?

Have a nice day friends. Enjoy Jah's creations.

Yes, Designs, what is going on in Spain is atrocious and my only hope is that those brothers and sisters get all that money back which they gave with their hard earned work. The greedy leaders of the WTS, have no right to profit from the sale of ANY property bought with the hard earned money of the poor. It is not theirs to keep. If they do that, they are not only greedy and sluggish slaves, but thieves.:( So reminiscent of Matthew 23.They will get their just rewards! Woe to them!:(
Agape,
Grateful :giverose:
Hi Grateful,

Wouldn't it be nice to see the friends get to keep the Headquarters, little chance of that but there is hope.

I noticed a similar fight in the Episcopal Church with the new split, who owns the churches, the central authority or the individual church. I think the Court's will have to decide.

Yes, it would be nice, Designs. It would also be the Christian thing to do, too. But as you say, there is little chance of that. :readthis::dollar::dollar::dollar::bigboss::bigboss::bigboss::barf: We'll just have to keep hoping.:(

I must be out of the loop... Spain?
There was a post that talked about the Society moving all of their printing presses out of Spain and laying off staff because the Spanish Government wanted them to pay taxes on the labor and pension funds.

We were recommending that the Witnesses in Spain should get to keep the Bethel Home since they paid for it with their own money and turn it into a home for the elderly and infirm Witnesses.

When the 'Wise use of riches' portion was dealt with at the KH I attended, bro's & sis' were saying how ALL the money we put in the box goes in printing more books & mags & for the world wide preaching work..............

NO mention of the vast amounts of hard earned contributions spent on out of court child abuse settlements.

Floriferous

I can't believe how boring this material is.. Never anything new or spirited.. The only new "light" they have is when they are correcting a previous mistake or else making rules for people in the congregation that is a matter of conscience.

And the pic on page 25.. oh yeah, like Jesus was a hunk like that. In Is. 52 and 53, it says his appearance is not one we would desire among other thoughts..
