Perhaps some of the biblestudents here have a record of the major doctrinal changes rutherford altered, I'm thinking (I don't believe this that jw's are particularly special but this is a good segway to finding the truth) perhaps if anything if one accepts jw doctrine rutherford fits the description of the evil slave.

He began beating fellow slaves etc, compared with russell his doctrines presented ridiculousness and a step into darkness rather than light, even now russells teachings are more harmonious (not saying all true) than rutherfords, and the org has changed many of rutherfords doctrines back. (Resulting in some ghost doctrines which no longer make sense in harmony)

For instance he changed the image of Daniel to satans org or something sheep and goats higher powers etc, if I can get people to see that, perhaps they will investigate further, does anyone have a more complete list with references of what rutherford changed.
Some of the changes in teachings and organization introduced by J.Rutherford-

Other Sheep not spirit anointed Christians, on par with John the Baptist

New Covenant for 144,000 only

Millennium is future

Eventually rejected the Studies In The Scriptures Vol. 1-6

Slight change on the Ransom and who is covered (not Adam and Eve)

Second Death at Armageddon

Central Authority vs Autonomous Home Churches

Care to add to the list

Thanks,
I'm hoping to find some of his more obvious ridiculous moves into darkness like leviathan being the train, compared to russell, and other stuff, things some of which have changed back, and ill lead them up to things which have not, in my presentation of the doctrinal changes.

I'd have to say that the BIGGEST difference btween the wt and Bible Students is the ransom (especially now).

Bible Students hold that Christ died a ransom for ALL
and that God’s plan will provide everyone —even non-believers—with a full opportunity to benefit from Jesus’ sacrifice. (Hebrews 2:9)

Hi Soldier,

One of the full circle doctrines is on the definition of "Generation" in Matthew 24:34.

J.Rutherford taught in 1927-28 that it was the Anointed on earth, then it moved to those born before 1914 who would know what was happening, then it changed to a longer age range experiencing the last days and now it has returned to the Anointed on earth.

Take care

Obviously they don't read Hebrews, where it says a wicked generation is 40 years, and the first fulfillment is harmonious with the destruction of Jerusalem.
I think Beth Sarim was amusing, along with the other one, was it called Beth Shan?
Yep Beth Shan http://www.seanet.com/~raines/bethshan.html
Bomb shelters at the beginning of the second world war. Now there is the measure of Rutherford's faith.

They make great wine cellars.......

some of Rutherford's changes and flips flops (sounds familiar ??):

Originally it was taught that Jesus died for all, including Adam (yes even Adam will be resurrected); that as "all in Adam die," so "all in Christ shall be made alive." In 1939 it was "discovered" that Adam was not redeemed by Christ and wont be raised from the dead... the reason being that Adam was a willful sinner.
In 1930, Nebuchadnezzar represented Satan; in 1936, he represented God. In 1923, character development was a work of God; in 1927, a delusion of the devil. In 1924, true religion was of God; by 1937, all religion was a snare and a racket. :read::read:

That sounds like a fun read if I had the time.

Russell taught that Jesus' presence began in 1874. Rutherford changed the date to 1914.

Rutherford introduced ban on Birthdays and Christmas celebrations.

The teaching that Christ died on a cross was dropped and it was taught that Christ died on a stake.

During Russell's time, elders were elected by the local congregations, but in the Rutherford era a new arrangement was launched and elders would be appointed by the society.

Door to door preaching was also introduced and time keeping or field service reporting was also introduced.

I believe in Russells ransom for all teaching moreso than rutherfords, save for the adam and eve part those I'm not sure of I know the price was paid though, however for those not blinded by Satan, ie adam, I'm not sure he merits a second chance its really in Gods decision, hands, though he was paid for, the thing I agree on is his reasoning that blind people wouldn't be eternally destroyed for not being able to see (spiritually speaking)and will be taught in the next age.

The watchtower teaches this in part now, however they say in armageddon all not in thier organization will be destroyed though they too are blinded by Satan in the same if not more of a way than all living in history as "satan in cast down" in more influence of the world at the end this age than ever before.

I believe that is the best reasoning point for reasoning with typical jws,(not mentioning adam himself though) because its a self contradiction and makes no sense, the people alive during the gospel age get a second chance because they were blinded by satan however those now living will eternally die.. Atleast have a consistant doctrine.

What really turned me onto all of this was steve mcbrides novel falling into truth, the debates with the character arthur olsen, it really is all logical,if anyones read it.
One of the simplier teachings of Charles Russell was that the Gospel Age was for gathering the Bride of Christ and all other rewards or judgements for humanity were for the Age to Come.
