Good Morning, Everyone! :hibye: Daily Scriptural Text for Saturday, February 3, 2007:

19 We know that we are children of God and that the world around us is under the control of the evil one.--1 John 5:19, New Living Translation.

Complimentary Scriptures:

21 [YHWH] smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: "Never again will I curse the ground because of man, even though every inclination of his heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done."--Genesis 8:21, New International Version.

26 "Just as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be in the days of the Son of Man: 27 people went on eating, drinking, marrying and giving in marriage until the day Noah boarded the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all."--Luke 17:26, 27, Holman Christian Standard Bible.

My comment: Today's Scriptural text, as offered in Examining the Scriptures Daily, only presents the second portion of the verse. So, I have included the entire verse. My main reason for doing so is to accentuate the fact that there are two separate statements contained in 1 John 5:19.

(1) "We know that we are children of God."
--This is a timeless statement of fact.

(2) "The world around us is under the control of the evil one."
--This acknowledges a temporary circumstance.

Point #2 is, -- for us, -- a most unfortunate circumstance. There is no getting around that. But, it is temporary. Christ Jesus came to this earth and gave his perfect human life in sacrifice for the world of mankind alienated from God and under the temporary control of "the evil one."

8 ... The reason the Son of God was made manifest (visible) was to undo (destroy, loosen, and dissolve) the works the devil [has done].--1 John 3:8-b, The Amplified Bible.

23 You were bought with a price [purchased with a preciousness and paid for by Christ].--1 Corinthians 7:23-a, ibid.

28 That is what the Son of Man has done: He came to serve, not be served—and then to give away his life in exchange for the many who are held hostage."--Matthew 20:28, The Message Bible.

4 [God] wants all people to be saved and to know what is true.

5 There is one God. There is also one man who can open the way between God and all people. That man is Christ Jesus.

6 He gave his life to set all men free. This matter was told at the right time.
--1 Timothy 2:4-6, Worldwide English (New Testament).

Have A Sweet Saturday, Everybody! :giverose:
All Praise To YHWH And Christ Jesus For Their Love Toward Us! :yahoo:

Much LOVE to ALL! isomam

No, Iso...you have that all wrong. You KNOW that there are only 144,000 children of God that have come from the earth.

You also know that while not ALL living creatures will be destroyed (again), 99.999% of them will be destroyed (Noah's family representing an appropriate representation of survivorship).

You also know that the entire world is not under the influence of satan. There is a small island of respite in the middle of New York City, the murder capital of the world, where satan cannot enter. In that place, service to mankind is fundamental and the leastest is the greatest.

How could you be so wrong?

(Sorry, dude. I have my sarcastic hat on today.)

gus
and so from a verrry snowy and Verrry cold top of the world I offer a Sarcasm Counter Attack or maybe I should call it a Counter Sarcasm Attack :D

''You have begun to live the new life, in which you
are being made new and are becoming like the One
who made you. This new life brings you the true knowledge
of God. In the new life there is no difference between Greeks
and Jews...or those who are foreigners, or Scythians.
There is no difference between slaves and free people.
But Christ is in all believers, and Christ
is all that is important.''  Colossians 3: 10-11 :heartbeat: And--
to Isomam I say thank you and Beautiful thoughts  as always Iso :friends:     and to Gus I say--you are exactly right dear brother--this changes everything doesn't it when we look at it through this wonderful lens and realize the truth of these things   it is actually awe-inspiring to me--:happyheart:
Isn't it an arrogance on the part of any religious entity to go around telling others they aren't good enough for God?:read: Most religions do it. But JW's do it on a much grander scale, worldwide.:cry:And they do it in God's name, with such an arrogant and haughty spirit and in such a condemnatory manner. All of us who were staunch followers of the society have had a share in that mentality. We were a part of all that blind allegiance to men, not God.:readthis::readthis: I know I was, and I am now wholly ashamed that I ever let myself get caught up in this kind of sick, unwholesome and unhealthy condemnation of others. :redface:I thank Jehovah daily for having removed the scales from my eyes, and to try to live now with a real spirit of love towards others, instead of that pretend, put on face and behaviour which was so prevalent among many of the brothers and sisters. Having a form of godly devotion, but proving false to its power.:read: I can only hope I have been forgiven for all those wasted years of not really knowing Jehovah, having only had a form of godly devotion and not really doing what was required of a true Christian. Jesus died for all, and no one has any right to deny that truth to others. I will strive to never, ever think like that again.

Love to all of you.
