Keep holding the pattern of healthful words that you heard from me.--
2 Tim. 1:13 ... :heartbeat: :rose: :rose: :rose:

The verse in it's entirety feels important to me-- :rose:

''Keep holding the pattern of healthful words that you heard from me with the faith and love that are in connection with Christ Jesus.'' :rose:

Beautiful isn't it--''hold to healthful words with faith and love in Christ Jesus.'' Just what we do every day here at Paradise Cafe.... :happyheart: :rose: :grouphug:

There is much power in the word of God.... :rose:

''God's word is alive and working
and is sharper than a double-edged sword.
It cuts all the way into us, where the soul and
the spirit are joined,to the centre of our joints and bones. :rose:
And it judges the thoughts and feelings in our hearts.''
Hebrews 4:12 :rose:

It is good and beneficial for us and produces the joy we all want in our life... :rose:

''The truly happy people are those who
carefully study God's perfect law that makes people free,
and they continue to study it. They do not forget
what they heard, but they obey what God's teaching says. :rose:
Those who do this will be happy.'' James 1:25

We change or evolve-- as we grow not only into stronger Christians but it also changes us as a person. It's all good  :rose:

''As newborn babies want milk,
you should want the pure and simple teaching.
By it you can grow up and be saved, because you have :rose:
already examined and seen how good the Lord is.''
1 Peter 2:2 :rose:

Have a wonderful day today friends --I hope the sun is shining on all of you-- :heartbeat::rose: :rose:
Hi wolfie,

This is a subject close to my heart, that living by scriptural guidance should make us healthy people. Granted, we often come to the Bible already troubled, and the days of miracle cures are over, but I expect to have better mental balance from applying God’s word.

I’ve seen quite a bit of dysfunction in religious groups, so I can only conclude that we have not applied the advice at hand, and often not understood it well enough to take proper advantage of it.

As you brought out in scripture, God’s word is powerful, and incisive to get right down to the root of issues. I really think that incisiveness gives us more perception to help us deal with complicated personal issues, as well as moral principles.

All things considered, we would hope to get more love, more happiness and more joy out of life even in these difficult times.

Following along with your thoughts, I guess it must be a growing thing, learning as we live and applying the principles of scripture more and more as we get to understand them better.

Thanks for todays thoughts, and all the work that goes into the daily texts.

Regards,
Brendan.
Hi Brendan

I Love your thoughts on this subject. I have thought of it often over the years too as more than anything I think most of us want to see and feel God and Christ working in our lives. One thing this does for me is give me hope--hope that I can be better and do better and be more than I am by nature--and that's a GOod thing  believe me because by nature I am ultra quiet and passive and introspective. I NEED to know that I can be more than that. Every now and then I gleen a bit of my own potential before the door closes on it but I think as we grow in Christ and grow spiritually we begin to see who we truly are meant to be without all the baggage we carry --and that gives me Great Hope for what the Bible calls The Real Life....thanks so much for your thoughts Brendan..great ones as always :friends:
hi, wolfie! :hibye: hi, brendan! :hibye: i love reading the thoughts from both of you. :grouphug:

"keep holding." a continuous action, isn't it? it's not that we can grab hold of 'the pattern of healthful words' once, and that is that. hardly. we want to remain vigilant and aware, that our grip never loosen and that 'pattern' slip away from us; especially living as we do in a present environment which is so counter-intuitive and contra-indicative to that fine pattern.

and i so agree with you both that it is an 'acquired skill' to have the pattern permeate our very being, so that we may let it work to our benefit more fully every day. :)

christian love to both of you, wolfie and brendan. and to all.
